But this does bring up a good point. My wife is North Indian so she does look Hispanic. Maybe she should be strapped.

Good thing my wife is white. Sometimes when we walk she stops and cools off using folks' sprinklers.

Where I live people often travel more than 12 miles for their exercise. They will go to the beach, nature trails, etc. Jogging 12 miles from home isn't a crime. The killer didn't know the jogger was 12 miles from their home anyway.

Why is anyone talking about that in an effort to excuse this killing?

Pay attention. @Trader_Jorge is right. While we have a right to drive somewhere else to get our exercise in, we must be willing to accept the consequences. Which includes death. USA USA USA

12 miles away = we don't see his kind often therefore he's up to no good for sure he needs to be pointeed a gun at and arrested then shot if he resists

Tomorrow would have been Ahmaud Arbery's 26th birthday. A lot of people (myself included) will be running/jogging/walking 2.6 miles in a show of solidarity for the family. #irunwithmaud.

According to his father, Aubrey lived a street over from where he was killed.

I will say this ( and hopefully its not controversial lol ) but definitely on first watch of the video i thought there was a chance ( not saying high chance ) that the jogger could have been the aggressor. I say this because the video to me plays out like this.... i see a dude jogging .. then the camera shows the grass ... then i see a dude jogging and there is a truck .... then the camera turns away again ... then i see two dudes fighting over a gun and one guy in the truck doing nothing ... then i see some more fighting and hear shots ... then they disengage and the jogger falls over, presumably shot.

I first watched it on my phone and the video was kinda grainy , i couldn't really tell the races that well. i could mostly just make out that the dude was wearing white shirt. But after reading the backstory about why those guys were out then i wouldn't absolve them of responsibility . they sought out to find this dude and bringing guns , knowingly created the potential to escalate the situation. Race may have been a motivation or maybe it was pure vigilanteism ... maybe both . To me , just the desire to go to do what they did is enough to make them liable and they should be held accountable for whatever happened ( ive only seen the vid a couple of time i have no idea about eye witnesss accounts etc )

The only thing that has ever mentioned "12 miles" was that Wikipedia page and it has since been edited out. And, of course, it is what @Trader_Jorge latched on to.

yes, and it doesn't matter if he lived 229 miles away. Being away from your home doesn't mean you deserve to die. The whole line of reasoning is nonsensical.

Prosectors need to make sure to charge them with manslaughter and not second degree. I'm afraid we will get another Zimmerman verdict if they don't charge with manslaughter.

The Martin's lawyer in the Zimmerman case is somehow involved here. Didn't catch if he was representing the victim's family. Can't tell if he has a stronger case this time to push for second degree murder.

It's really risky. You have to prove intent. At the end of the day these were overzealous probably racist asshats who didn't think through what might happen if you chase someone down in a truck with firearms and corner them. I'm sure their intention wasn't to kill him. If it wasn't their initial intention, they need to be charged with manslaughter or else these two asshats will come out unpunished.
