Trump's very, very large brain thinks that what a country in the middle a pandemic really needs is less ... health care.

    Best. President. Ever.

Bill Barr warns Trump administration to back off lawsuit seeking to kill Obamacare: ‘Major political implications’

Attorney General William Barr urged Trump administration officials to back off its call for the entire Obamacare law to be struck down in a legal battle expected to be heard by the Supreme Court later this year, according to a new report.

Barr made a “last-minute push” Monday to preserve parts of the Affordable Care Act before Wednesday’s deadline to modify arguments in the case to Vice President Mike Pence, White House counsel Pat Cipollone and other administration officials, CNN reported. It is unclear if the meeting affected the administration’s position.

The attorney general and other top brass have argued that dismantling the entire law could have “major political implications” come Election Day. Barr urged officials to modify their stance to include keeping parts of the law in place.

The Trump administration last year backed a lawsuit filed by Texas and more than a dozen Republican-led states seeking to invalidate the legislation after the 2017 Republican tax cut law eliminated the individual mandate penalty, which was central to the Supreme Court’s 2012 decision upholding it as constitutional.

Both Barr and Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar have argued against repealing the law in full, and Barr recently argued that dismantling the law amid the coronavirus pandemic would disrupt health care for millions before the election, according to CNN.

But other Trump aides have pushed back, arguing that the lawsuit should proceed after Republicans campaigned on repealing the law for nearly a decade.

The administration previously argued that only parts of the law should be repealed. Shortly after Barr’s appointment, the Justice Department revised its position last year to argue that the entire law should be struck down.

Though the case is expected to be heard this fall, the Supreme Court is not expected to rule on the case until 2021 — well after the election.’

If the Trump administration and the Republican states get the decision they have sought for years, about 20 million people are expected to immediately lose their health coverage and tens of millions would lose protections for pre-existing conditions. The decision would also affect as many as 35 million Americans estimated to be at risk of losing their employer-based health coverage amid the coronavirus-caused recession.

“It’s a bad idea to try and strip millions of Americans of their health coverage in the middle of a global pandemic,” Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., who sits on the Senate Oversight Committee, tweeted. “But that’s exactly what President Trump is doing.”

“If President Trump & Republicans refuse to stop their partisan health care lawsuit—even during a global pandemic—it will be the ultimate proof they care more about politics than patients & families who could be hurt by their relentless attacks,” Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., the ranking member on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, added.

“The administration still hasn’t abandoned its effort to destroy the Affordable Care Act, which provides coverage to millions through Medicaid and private exchanges, and protects preexisting conditions,” Rep. Alan Lowenthal, a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said. “If they succeed, the results will be devastating.”

China attacked us just like Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.

Damn, if only our Criminal in Chief was not asleep at the wheel, we would have been ready.

[BBC] Trump says coronavirus worse 'attack' than Pearl Harbor

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on Wednesday, Mr Trump said: "We went through the worst attack we've ever had on our country, this is worst attack we've ever had.

"This is worse than Pearl Harbor, this is worse than the World Trade Center. There's never been an attack like this.

"And it should have never happened. Could've been stopped at the source. Could've been stopped in China. It should've been stopped right at the source. And it wasn't."

To no avail, trump already ignored barr... trump and the republican supreme court members will take away affordable care and coverage for people with pre-existing conditions... at a time when so many are struggling with a pandemic. Amazingly cruel...

Trump ignores Barr, asks Supreme Court to destroy the entire ACA
With an ACA case pending at the Supreme Court, Barr wanted Trump to choose a more responsible course. Trump decided not to care.

Trump will urge Supreme Court to strike down Obamacare
Attorney General Bill Barr had urged the White House to soften its attack on the law during the pandemic.

This is all the Dems need for their 2020 election messaging to yield landslide level of victories. Too bad they suck at it.

It's like Pearl Harbor but if Roosevelt decided that the Japanese were closer to the Pacific anyway after Wake Island and decided to withdraw to East of the Mississippi in order to focus on the 44 election.

When the White House released its “Opening Up America Again” guidelines last month, a lot of people noticed that something was missing: details on how to do that safely. Now, the Trump administration has blocked the release of a detailed guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The 17-page “Guidance for Implementing the Opening Up America Again Framework” was supposed to be published last Friday—but then, an unnamed CDC official tells the Associated Press, scientists were told it “would never see the light of day.” And it’s reportedly not because the document had errors or was incomplete, but because, with Donald Trump pushing reopening no matter what, the White House doesn’t want to release detailed guidance.

How jealous is Bill Burr of Bill Barr? Barr is actually putting in place a plan to achieve Burr’s dream of killing off half the population.

Remember how servile and useless Meadows appeared at Honeywell in Arizona, skulking in the background, hands in pockets: "I'm not on camera, am I?"

The Trump administration is determined to keep meatpacking plants open and running fast even as they become epicenters of coronavirus—and administration officials are trying to distract from that by blaming the workers for getting sick. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar recently told a bipartisan group of lawmakers that the high infection rates at meatpacking plants weren’t about the plants themselves but about the workers’ “home and social” lives.

”Their theory of the case is that [workers] are not becoming infected in the meat processing plant, they're becoming infected because of the way they live in their home,” Rep. Ann Kuster of New Hampshire told Politico about the call. This comes after workers at one Smithfield pork plant filed a complaint saying they could get in trouble for pausing their work long enough to cover their faces while coughing or sneezing, and after at least one company has threatened a union for going public with safety concerns. This work involves standing close together without time to wash or sanitize hands regularly—in part, because the Trump administration allowed a speed-up of pork processing lines.

    Breaking karmic news...

Coronavirus: Trump valet tests positive for Covid-19

A personal valet for President Donald Trump, who among other things serves meals to the president, has tested postive for the coronavirus, but a White House spokesman said that both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have since tested negative.

The valet, who is a member of the military, would have very close contact with Trump as he assisted the president with his clothes, food and other personal needs.

A White House official who spoke NBC News said that the valet, who is a man, like other valets does not wear masks around the president.

The official said that the president was “not happy” when he learned Wednesday that his valet had tested positive for the virus, which causes the Covid-19 disease that has already killed more than 73,000 Americans in the past several months.

A source with knowledge of the situation described it to NBC News as an “operational failure.” That source said that everyone who works in close proximity to the president should be wearing masks.

“We were recently notified by the White House Medical Unit that a member of the United States Military, who works on the White House campus, has tested positive for Coronavirus,” White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement Thursday.

“The President and the Vice President have since tested negative for the virus and they remain in great health,” Gidley said.

Pence was en route to visit a health-care facility in Alexandria, Virginia as news broke about the valet.

The vice president did not wear a mask during his vist to the facility, which houses some patients with Covid-19. Pence did not respond to shouted questioned from reporters about the valet being positive for coronavirus.

A Defense Department spokesman said, “As with any other service member who tests positive, the individual will quarantine in their residence, and will receive medical care as needed.”

The White House declined to say whether Trump planned to quarantine following news of his aide’s diagnosis.

The White House also declined to comment on whether the president’s wife Melania and their son Barron, or the vice president’s wife Karen had been tested after the valet tested positive.

As of noon Thursday, the president was still planning to meet with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott at 2 p.m. Two hours after that, Trump is scheduled to speak at the White House for a National Day of Prayer Service.

CNN reported that the individual who tested positive began displaying symptoms of the virus on Wednesday.

Based on what is currently known about coronavirus, the incubation period between when a person is first exposed and when they exhibit symptoms is, on average, five or six days.

It is unclear how contagious people are during this period. But according to Harvard Medical School’s coronavirus information center, “emerging research suggests that people may actually be most likely to spread the virus to others during the 48 hours before they start to experience symptoms.”

Trump has refused to wear a mask as a precaution against the coronavirus despite federal health guidance that suggests all Americans do so when in public and when unable to maintain a six-foot distance from other people.

Trump did not wear a mask Tuesday while touring the production area of a Honeywell factory in Phoenix, Arizona, which is manufacturing n95 masks for the Defense Department. Trump said Honeywell officials had told the White House that he did not need to wear a mask, despite signs at the factory reminding workers to wear masks at all times.

According to the White House Historical Society, there are few people who work more closely, physically speaking, with the president and his family than the president’s valet.

A position that dates back to George Washington, every president has had at least one valet who helps him to dress, maintains his clothes and sees to his personal needs within the residence.

“In addition to caring for the presidential clothing, valets were personal assistants, messengers, confidants, nurses, barbers, bartenders, waiters, public relations agents, and companions. Some were considered unofficial members of the first family,” the historical society writes on its page about valets.

Pence was criticized last week when he toured the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and did not wear a mask despite a policy there requiring masks for all staff, patients and visitors.

Pence did wear a mask during a visit two days later to a General Motors plant in Indiana that is making ventilators to help meet demand from hospitals treating patients with Covid-19.

There are more than 1.2 million Americans who have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. At least 73,431 people in the United States have died from Covid-19.

They should all get it so they can go commando in WH commons and mark their territory, aka doing a "Rand Paul".

Are you sure you want to sit there, Acosta??
