Is prison less of a deterrent for homosexual people?

    This occurred to me the other day.

    I'm in no way saying that prison would be a fun for gay people. But you are locked in with people you could potentially be attracted to, unlike heterosexual folks. And they can still get violently raped, it's not like their sexual orientation matters at that point.

    Personally, sex is way down on my list of prison being a deterrent but it surely is on the list. Losing my family, being bored and losing the comfort I currently enjoy are above getting laid. I can always rub one out in a pinch, although not touching a woman for years would suck.

    I guess the only big deterrent is the other prisoners that hate homosexuals. But then again, there are people in there that hate a lot of things like skin color, religion, age, hair color, height, etc etc.

    Interesting thought. I like these kinds of questions lol. I definitely think the deterrent value of prison remains the same, because it's a horrible place to be. But I would absolutely enjoy my time slightly better if I was locked in a women's prison, i.e. anywhere filled with the sex I'm attracted to.

    So let me get this straight?

    You think going to prison would somehow be put into the plus column for a homosexual because there is a lot of dudes?

    So you think that would outweigh the fact that there possibility of being raped rises dramatically or the possibility of assault as well.

    Do you think prison is some kind of juice bar and people are just pairing off at random?

    Do you think homosexuals rank the opportunity for sex more than freedom or safety?

    I just don't really know what your thought process was with this question it seems just doing a simple pros and cons list should have answered your question.

    It's like the three hundred pound gross rednecks worrying about gay people sharing restrooms with them.

    "The gays" like to have sex with men.

    They are a technically a man.

    But trust me, no gay man is contemplating having sex with your 300 lb gross redneck body because you happen to just slide by the minimum requirements for being a man.

    Most gay men are definately not trolling for neanderthal thug prison sex any more than you are thinking about nailing gap-toothed schizophrenic homeless women that haven't showered in a month when you see one lying on a downtown street corner.

    Unless that's your kink. If so I'm not kink shaming you. I'm sure there a few gay guys with really disturbing prison rape kinks, but 99.99% of gay guys find prison rape sex about as appealing as you'd find rape sex with 70 year old stanky homeless women because they happen to have a vagina.

    It's kind of obvious he's inserting some light humor into his response. But I'll let him defend himself. FWIW, I'd prefer if I had to go to prison, that it be as he described. And even that would be bad.

    Don't want to derail the thread, but I always loved watching the people who volunteered to go to county jail for 60 days on the tv show ("60 Days In" - A&E). I enjoyed watching the ones freak out after about a day of being in there or really any time they freak out. They volunteered to do 60 days in county. Idiots.

    When this occurred to me, it was for both men and women. There are no co-ed prisons.

    I worked in prisons for three years. There really aren't any fat guys (or gals) there because they aren't fed enough. The majority are really dumb and fairly small, surprisingly. I hypothesized that it was the poor socioeconomic demographic they came from. They weren't eating hormone-injected meat dinners nightly.

    @jiggyfly Not saying it's juice bar hookup joint. But if two people who were interested in the same sex were interested in each other, it's romance or at least an agreement. It's not something heterosexual people can get in jail. @Jayzers_100 is right. If the possibility existed to get laid in jail with someone you wanted to bang, it wouldn't be as horrible. -shrug-

    I guess another deterrent is that you have no control over where your romantic interest is moved to. They could just be moved to another prison with no warning one day. Heartbreaking, I guess.

    This is such a cringey thread.

    I'm sure statistics would show that being a homosexual in prison is an absolute nightmare, even more then the regular nightmare I'm sure it is.

    Beatings, rape, torture (psychological and physical), potential grievous bodily injury up to and including death.

    If, anything, I would think the potential abuse a homosexual would receive in prison would be more of a deterrent then anything else.

    Isn't this the forum for cringey threads?

    I'm talking about American prisons. TV and Movies have made prisons into a much more wild place than they actually are.
