Yep, since Texas "re-opened" many companies are rescheduling their employees to come back to work, and at that point, It's return or be fired.

Everyone paying attention knew this would happen. Workers will be told go back to work regardless of risks. Failure to return to work will result in the inability to get unemployment. If an employee does get sick from COVID19, the employer will be granted immunity from as worker’s compensation claim or civil remedies. This will happen and the overwhelming majority will go back to work out of fear of poverty. People will get sick and die until there is a vaccine. How many die? Depends on how long until there is a vaccine.
This is an important topic, and I’ve wondered how this will play out. Some people want to work and are not afraid. Other people are afraid and don’t know what to do. I can understand all points of view, but that doesn’t mean I have any good solutions. I have three brothers who work. Brother number one works in a risky front line job, but it’s a six figure job and he’s going to work no matter what, but he is concerned about getting the virus. Brother number two is a project manager for a NASA contractor and has been working from home for the past five weeks. Even if he has to return to his office building, he has his own office and could probably take precautions to avoid contact with people. Others in his building work in cubicles, so that is probably more of a risk. Brother number three is basically retired, but he has been working part time at Starbucks to have something to do, and to make a little extra spending money. Starbucks has been good and allowed him a month off and still get paid. He recently had to have a medical treatment that weakened his immune system, so he’s very concerned about being around people who may have the virus. I doubt he will return to Starbucks if new cases of the virus are still popping up. So, we can see just in my own family that peoples situations are different , and some have to make difficult decisions. These types of decisions are going to have to be made by people everywhere. If you have an elderly person in your household, You have to think long and hard about going to work and potentially bringing the virus home. Tough decisions for many, and I really haven’t heard much talk from our leaders on this topic.
