This makes me very sad for this country, at a visceral level. I've seen the camps, in person. I've studied and written about that time in German history.
I know this dumb sign is just a one off, but that any American could hold that up is sad. That other Americans would march around with her and not tell her off is just a terrible signal for us all. ****ing hell. Daddy's going to need a bigger cocktail tonight.

We have the will, we don't have the leadership, with a few exceptions on the state level. Several of the states "opening up," probably a majority of them, haven't approached the minimal requirements for phase one and, in fact, have blown right past them. Just as I expected to happen, the estimate now is that we'll surpass 100,000 deaths.

Countless Americans will be permanently affected by Covid-19 with damaged lungs, some with neural damage that is still not understood. We are still attempting to understand the virus and we have the finest scientists and researchers in the world, the best facilities, world class universities, more than any other country by far. They have a problem. They are fighting trump as well as the virus.

It's madness and we will pay for it, thanks to the madman in the White House. Him, and fools afraid of the "man" who are governors running several of the states, and with GOP control of one or more branches of their legislature. The mayors of most of the major cities in Texas are not happy about what Abbott is doing. Not at all. But hey, what can we do about it? Plenty, if allowed to act.

Wait, although i disagree with carrying the weapons in protest, labeling these people as bad is premature. Weapons or not, peace has prevailed

You call that "peace?" I call it an attempt at intimidation. It wasn't peaceful at all, unless your only definition of peace is a lack of violence.

These Trump political rallies are stupid and going to backfire.

Most people understand the stay at home orders (supported by the president) are for public health reasons. And most people understand these rallies (supported by the president) are just political garbage meant to attack Dems

I see what you're saying, in that nobody was run down and killed or injured at all. It's a fair point.

30 million unemployed in this country as a result of the government-imposed lockdowns. The unemployment statistics are partially reversible, if we act soon. Not a single person can DEMONSTRATE why the government-imposed lockdown of businesses and gatherings can save lives. On the contrary, an excellent WSJ piece showed NO CORRELATION between lockdown and saving lives, when comparing to states and countries that didn't lock down.

So when faced with the prospect of crippling the world's largest economy and financially ruining 30 million families, it is prudent to proceed with extreme caution, and check in regularly as to whether the approach is working or needs to be adjusted. The lockdown should end right now. Freedom and the right to earn a living should supersede the now diminished risk of hospital overcrowding.

The fact that I have to explain this to this group of simpletons and layabouts shakes my faith in the collective intelligence of society.... yet reassures me that I will always be wealthy because of my superior intellect.

    GOOD DAY

Its like google doesn't exist then have to go gymnastics. Trump on mitigation:

"Think of the number — potentially 2.2 million people if we did nothing, if we didn’t do the distancing, if we didn’t do all of the things that we’re doing"

    FREEDUMB!!!!

I'm going to make a not so bold prediction. We pass 100,000 deaths in two weeks.

Given that there is a lot of evidence that the death count might be significantly undercounted we might've passed that already.

Just the numbers of the count show why we are essentially losing this battle. Many, including here, continue to say that the count is exaggerated. I heard somone call into a sports talk radio show I like to claim that only 85 people under 65 have died from COVID 19 in US. The actual figure from the CDC Is in he thousands. Those people protesting are not using the same figures that the CDC, John Hopkins, and most of us use.

These people need to be locked up. For their own safety.

Who the hell would honestly believe that the Mayo clinic would not tell him to wear a mask?

Why would they need to tell him?

Did he not see everybody else wearing mask?

They don't even try to be half way believable anymore.

But hey Obama said you can keep your doctor so it's all the same.

How ridiculous. You are 100% misinterpreting their protest - they are comparing the Democrat-policy of locking people in their homes and depriving them of the ability to earn a living as being fascist (Nazi-like). They are not proclaiming themselves as Nazis.

No masks (on protesters or police), in their faces, coming in physical contact??? Someone has to speak out against this instead of encouraging it for political reasons...

I think the only reasonable counter protest at this point is going out with a bigger American flag and a Red Cross flag. A bigger gun, maybe a laser gun. And a Draeger respirator. And a big Biden Flag. Or even an Obama flag to trigger the Alt Right.
