It's hard to believe because that Wuhan lab is the standard in virus research - they created many of the safety standards used around the world including the US. They take it very seriously and that lab is known for safety. Our own intelligence says it's incredibly unlikely.

More likely is that this virus came the way every other virus in human history did - from a wild animal to some villager in a remote region, who then transferred it to a hub where it was able to spread quickly. If it came from a lab, lab workers would have been the first to get sick, and that would have created a whole entirely different set of how to handle it.

It's not impossible it came from a lab, it's just highly unlikely. And I really don't understand why people need to say it came from a lab. I'm not speaking as a liberal or conservative, just from a place of logic.

Here's a great article on this subject:

Who said they did it on purpose? It's clear that they weren't honest with WHO or the rest of the world. Probably due to embarrassment.

But playing along: If I were the Chinese government, I'd definitely release it on my own to spread out to other nations, meanwhile stockpiling the necessary medical equipment and lie to WHO and anyone else that asked about it being transmitted from human to human. Because I'm China, I don't give two rat asses about my people. They are there to serve the motherland. Now, I can sit back and watch how the rest of the world reacts and understand what will happen when I unleash the big bad boy virus. The one I've already vaccinated the fortunate in my country for. Playing along and all... Now that's some far out **** and I don't believe that is anything close to what happened. But they are the ones who have declared America as their enemy and are committed to fighting unconventionally. Just sayin'

It could have gotten out of the lab on accident. That's all I'm really saying. And why take up for them when they knowingly lied about the transmission and tried to cover it up? You got an NBA contract or something?

Your conspiracy theory has too many holes in it. First of all, we are talking about 6 days before China contacted the WHO. Look, any nation, especially a paranoid repressive one, is going to feel the need to control information. Another pandemic in China is highly embarrassing. They clearly wanted to keep it quiet and deal with it, but when they realize it was going to blow up all over the world, they worked with the WHO.

Were they late? Yes. Were they negligent? Yes. Neither of those make this the unleashing of a biological weapon though - that's quite a leap.

The entire world is dealing with this. China, her allies, and her enemies. And the one nation China depends most on is the US. We drive China's economy. They have no reason to want to shut us down, because doing so destroys them economically as well.

We need to stop with the conspiracy theories based on no evidence or science. Instead of trying to deflect away from our own failures, let's take steps to fix the problems with testing here.

That's a terrible article...lol. She's all over the place, laying out a case it could've come from places other than the wet market, which the Chinese claim it came from. She references 5 scientists who've worked closely with Chinese researchers at the lab, none actually worked at the lab. One says it's preposterous that it came from the lab yet it can't be disproved. Why is it preposterous? Well, because of all of the safety measures, which are vigilantly adhered to because.....here it comes.....because of past inadvertent releases from research labs https://www.the-scientist.com/news-analysis/sars-escaped-beijing-lab-twice-50137 So what's she saying? It's possible (which is what I'm saying). But unlikely because it's happened before. Huh?

Nevermind. It could've come from the lab.

All of the jibbajabba between "Playing along" was just.... playing. I don't think there was anything intentional. I'm not even arrogant enough to definitely say where it came from. Because, frankly, I don't know.
but it could've come from a lab
    accidentally

The United States population has a very large and vocal subset of people that really have a hard time accepting that experts that spend their entire adult lives studying a subject know more about that subject than someone that “has a gut feeling”.

Scientists understand science better than your minister or your mechanic husband or the talking head on television.

Fair enough. Make a case that it definitively did not come from the lab if you feel that strongly about your position. I've stated mine: I don't know.

FWIW: China is pouring $$$ into our media trying to eradicate any blame pointed at them. I doubt they are spending their money over at Fox News. I can't definitively say where they are spending it. I'm 99% certain they aren't spending it at Fox (but they could be...)

There's more people in China on a smaller plot of land than anywhere else except maybe the slums of India.

Seriously look up population density and how viruses spread.

This is toycen or... ... big boy pullups thinking material.

I guess I'm just using Occam's Razor. It's sort of like UFO sightings. Do I think those are unidentified flying objects that I see in videos? Absolutely. Do I think it's more man made than alien? Absolutely. Why would governments not want to identify them? Perhaps because they're testing flight capabilities of new tech they don't want other rival nations to know of until it's leaked beyond an ability to cover it up. Maybe it's tech from rival nations that are testing flight capabilities of new airflight the U.S. doesn't want yet leaked they have intel of. Sort of like playing Poker and being able to deduce your opponent has a losing hand, but you don't want to go all in yet and give away that you know you have the winning hand, so you slowly squeeze raises out of them until they rationalize going all in too. I find that to be more likely than aliens from beyond our solar system doing casual air flight for funzies and our military happened to catch a share worthy clip of Aliens Funniest Videos cloud surfing instead of plotting world domination.

Let's really add to your conspiracy. Maybe it's an alien that realized humanity is going to destroy the Earth through global warming and inevitable nuclear warfare down the road and wants to preserve the precious resources on this planet by wiping out the human population. The rogue alien that answers to neither man nor to the Oblash, a species of life that lives off a planet that rotates around Wolf 424A star system. This alien wears the skin of a Chinese man he anally probed to swap bodies with him. He then spent 8 years of college to get a post doc in research in virology and published a research paper that was cutting edge in it's insights even among the top minds of Epidemiology and viral study, all to gain the gullible trust of humans, get hired by the WVC (Wuhan Virus Company), until one day it would release a lab alien made virus that kills off only 2 to 8% of the projected global population without exercising social distancing precautions, failing in it's goals of even decimating the human population, but unintentionally conspired with the ninja like Deep State to bring Trump down by presenting this administration with a global pandemic that it inadequately failed to respond to. ****ing aliens.

Oumuamua trekked into our solar system in 2017. The virus spread in 2020. Perhaps an alien was dropped off from this UFO and plotted to leak the virus in China to weaken the immune system of human beings before the alien cavalry comes through in 2021 to wipe the rest of us out.

Dr. Fauci had very positive news to share about remdesivir as a treatment for COVID19 today.

So I take it you "Fire Fauci!!!" people are not believing this because this must be what the Chinese government and the WHO want you to believe, right?

Let’s be clear here. I was ‘playing along’ with the conspiracy you started. So add to your own babble. It serves no purpose to me.

You say there is evidence that it did not originate in a lab. I don’t contest that. I’m sure you already know this because you’re an expert. But can you explain to everyone else that these labs contain viruses that originate from nature so they can study them?

    You're quoting a 16 year old article.

Those are scientists, people who have worked and dedicated their careers to their craft who work with the lab and are experts in how viruses spread.

Of course it can be disproved. Most things can't be disproved. You can't disprove god exists for example. You can't disprove reality is just a simulation.

But what they are saying is not that it is impossible, that it's so unlikely that people are wasting a lot of time and energy speculating that it came from the Wuhan lab. And it may not have originated in a seafood market. It could have came from somewhere else and ended up at that market. It's highly unlikely the virus mutated into what it is now during a wet market and more likely it happened in the wild.

How does that not make sense? When a virus jumps to another species it isn't instantly contagious the way the virus is now. That may not have been the final form. It often has to mutate within the new host to become what it is - so it could have been spreading very slowly amongst humans and then at some point - become highly virulent. It could have been in the human population for years and just have been undetected or mistaken for something else.

There are so many sources and possible routes, and very little information here.

I am not referencing you when I replied. So I am not sure why you replied to my post. Unless of course you are the same person(dachuda86) using two accounts. I am not suggesting that. So please tell why you bothered to reply to my post?

Conflating this with conspiracy theory ufo stuff to imply it is crazy is a sign of how braindead you are.
