Agree w those saying Twitter is most corrosive of those options, and also most addictive. That makes it the worst by a country mile, to me.

Facebook is annoying but I find it easy to mute the politics and just enjoy jokes from friends.

insta is currently my fave by a good margin. Lots of silliness and interesting pics.

I probably should have included tiktok but I just forgot it because I'm too old for it.

I just asked an employee, what app they thought was best? Her reply was Snapchat. There are so many out there now. I am also too old to care.

Snapchat has been dead for a while, since Insta just added everything they did but made it better

All of them are toxic places especially when there is no moderation so people think that makes them immune and can say whatever they want.

I do use Reddit though but contrary to popular belief, I don't see it as social media. It is more of a message board where you can talk about your favorite topics with other like minded people (sub reddits). And people there are friendly.

I voted Facebook for the average 70 IQ posts I see there but after some thought it’s definitely Twitter.

People are utterly addicted and utterly dependent on it’s constant stream of tiny hits of stimulus via garbage media. It’s all one friend of mine does all day, every day, now that sports are gone. People used to subscribe to one newspaper or the other due to political leaning. Twitter takes that narrow view and compressed it down to a coffee stir stick. It’s no wonder people are so incised these days- they’re practically brainwashed.

I think this is just right. It's the addictive nature which is especially destructive, because it drives people further and further into bubbles (to say nothing of madness). LOL. Nobody's addicted to Facebook, and for all it's many ugly flaws, that's a good thing.

A majority of the users used to be. That was before all of the other platforms came out and even now there is still a large portion of elder people that arent very savvy on the likes of twitter or other media platforms, that love the simplicity of facebook and are addicted. I have a plenty of old people tell me that they saw this or that on facebook and I should buy this cause they saw it advertised on facebook, etc.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd rather use Twitter. I get news, breaking events, and things like images/videos of whatever happenings faster on there, and I can select who to follow. I really don't care about politics for the most part and find content on there entertaining or informative. I tend to ignore most of the comments/responses on Twitter, so that helps. lol.

Facebook is just like a sea of crap I have to wade through depending on who knows what knows who that I happen to know (yeah). I really don't use it except to annoy some friends with my fake account (they know who I am, of course). :D There's also something annoying about the entire layout of the thing to me. That, and I've always found Zuckerberg annoying. lol.

LinkedIn has turned into a self-help book and motivational site for recruiters. It's like a job site where Facebook is trying to break in through the windows. I just used LinkedIn to look for jobs, keep in touch with old co-workers, and look at what may be happening in the industry, but 90% of the site is just a bunch of recruiters, salespeople, advertising, and motivational postings that I have to wade through to get any info.

Pinterest I don't use, but I've been linked to stuff on there that I find interesting now and then. Instagram? Eh... if somebody links me, I'll go there.

To me, facebook is probably still the best and it is not close.
Other than that, I tend to look at the social media platforms as relatively similar.
I don't like the privacy issues, but at the same time facebook offered their product for free and provides you with a service.
Maybe my favorite social media now is Tumblr. I have been on that kick lately.

I have a Facebook account from back when it was thefacebook.com, and it was only open to select universities, of which we were one. I used it to see who was in my classes. And by that I mean used it to find the names of cute girls I'd seen in my classes. Anyway, I barely used it then when it was actually kind of useful, and then later on everybody got it, and it just seems like that was the best thing for Facebook, and the worst thing for the world.

I voted Facebook for two reasons. 1) I'm not on any other social media. 2) The user interface is abysmal. I could actually see some utility in very select usage of it for the sheer fact that everyone is on it. But it's so draining on me to try to do anything on it easily in the few instances I do visit pages that I can never convince myself I'd want to put up with that on a regular basis.

Friend of mine who actually does use most of the platforms says that Instagram is the only one that's not utterly terrible at this point.
