Which ones would you like to Master?

I like the Distance weapons like Bows and Cross bows
    But
Growing up during the Saturday Karate Picture Era
Bruce Lee made me want to be great with the NunChucks (Nunchaku)
    And these: [IMG]

Never was one for bladed weapons

But some I would love just to have on the wall and hanging around

Definitely bows and swords. Took college courses in both(archery/fencing) to break up the engineering monotony, and they were both a lot of fun.

Theres seems to be a lot of interest in Covid. That thread has about 350 pages.

Also #6 in that diagram is an insane piece of weaponry.

    “Besides guns”?
    rifles, without a doubt.

in my basic training, before this movie came out, we were told several times that our M16 is not a gun, it’s a weapon.

Did my drill sergeant get that from an even earlier movie? Or did movies get it from the military? I never got the importance of the semantic distinction being drilled into us.

I've trained quite a bit on non-firearm weapons. I currently own a recreation of a Qin Dynasty broadsword, a Chinese saber, a spear, along with boken (wooden katana), shinai (bamboo katana for Kendo), arnis sticks (from Kali) and a few different small knives. Most of the stuff I've done isn't really practical for actual fighting and self-defense but more for forms and show. Have done some Kendo sparring, stick fighting, and sword sparring.

For actual fighting the arnis sticks are probably the most practical. Things like nunchucks or swords are not allowed in a lot of places but sticks can be passed off as other things or there are stick like things all over the place that can be used.

I see the appeal of the bow. It's not like a sword or knife where you have to cut into flesh yourself, forcibly. That seems like a tall order that would give you bad dreams. But if you shoot at an arrow, you're not FEELING the damage being done, really, it's the BOW killing the person or animal, not you. And if you're killed by an arrow, you cant even be mad, you've got to tip your hat. That takes skill.

I'd love to have a tank.....but with air conditioning, leather upholstery, and a jammin sound system.
