I’m in it. Bought it because ALL young people do and will own it for the foreseeable future. Planned to just make some quick money... but after earnings report, and the after hours, I am wondering if this dog will hunt... edit: I meant to say that young people all have Snapchat, not own the stock...
$JETS looks good with government backstops. Might find a bottom after AA and Alaska report on Friday.
Haha, yeah I got what you meant on it for them using the platform. I think you're right, it definitely could be nice. I do think there might be a slight pullback with how this markets been at open, but I expect it could be a nice investment regardless. I'd just watch in morning/at open, might have a chance to maximize gains and re-enter. Then again, with market... Haha it's been crazy.
Great blog post on oil prices and what happened yesterday. If you're an industry or finance person, you're probably familiar already. Note that it paywalls after 1-2 days. Nothing I can do except to say read it and save it if you want to. https://rbnenergy.com/one-way-out-y...futures-contract-expiration-and-crude-storage
Some of the run-up was due to the short interest in the stock probably. I think it was around 15% the last I looked, but no matter who's using it, the only thing that really matters is if Snap can monetize those kids that use it. The stock hasn't done much of anything but be a dud since it IPO'ed, though, so who knows. I thought Twitter would be a 4 or 5-bagger but they still haven't figured out the monetization.
Watching CEO on CNBC right now. He’s a smart guy and I do think SNAP has a bright future. However, it’s a long play so I am out, for now...
. Yeah, definitely watch it, I'm out too, but think it could work for some plays, but definitely worry on them monetizing it as DoD states, I'm sure they have a good chance of doing it though since they're popular, Twitter though is a good example of not making things work.
On T did you see something you liked? I haven't looked at it lately, I think it will be good though.. I've been in/out a few times over last month.
They have earnings call today. Hoping for good news about HBO max. Either way, I think it’s a safe play, long or short.
Looking at all of the content on HBO Max with Friends etc on there. It looks like it will be successful. How many of these platforms can there be though? The list is hella long at this point. The individual networks I don't see making it though. Perhaps they should combine their platforms.
I agree and am hoping to play this short. However, at this price, I’m not worried about losing long term. HBO is The Godfather of pay TV and they continue to lead with the quality of their original programming... That said, I will also jump back into Netflix when they dip...
Thinking about selling my TOT oil play. I'm up about 4% in a couple days and was thinking of making this a long term hold but I feel like the pain isn't over in the oil industry.
Nice, I hope it works out well for you, and regardless I think you'll do good either way (like you mentioned). I definitely see there being a lot of growth coming for them. So even if it dipped a little it's going to come way back
Yes, I agree with you, definitely not over yet. Oil is a mess atm, long long term it'll return but it's going to be a while. I'd just watch market, I know you're not supposed to time it etc but I think you could make money in another area before going back to oil plays. Definitely not financial advice, market has been absolutely wild after the crash...
TOT won a big wind energy contract and is part of the nice move up. I like that they are somewhat diversified so if I do sell I will be back in it at some point for the long haul. Yes.. the market is crazy and I have investments in other areas besides oil. I bought southern company as a recession/safety/dividend play on one of the major down days a few weeks ago. It's acting like a growth stock the last few weeks.
Energy has bounced decently off its lows. Hell, just look at the XLE. It's up almost 50% since March 23 while throwing out 6% or 7% dividends. (not telling anyone to buy... do your own research... first thing you should notice is that the XLE is HEAVILY weighted towards XOM and CVX... )
