There is a distinct difference on how the pandemic is covered between US and almost everywhere else in the 1st world. I have been following the news here and there of most european countries, and australia, nz, sk, and even china since the start of the pandemic. The difference is striking. Even though I go to the most reknown american media outlets I know of (cnn, NYT FT, and WP). In other countries science and scientists are in the forefront and politics have taken a backseat. There is also unity between all party politicians. Even though there is critisism , almost everyone has decided to put their differences aside because there is a realisation of the crisis. Even the far right and far left and sworn enemies But when I read american news it is about Trump this and Trump that and controversy controversy controversy. I get mentally and emotionally tired after 5 minutes and I leave without getting informed. It is very difficult to follow the situation in america.

I hear you. Unfortunately this is a consequence of electing someone who made their fame and much of their money being a media personality. People talk about "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (TDS) and how we should just ignore him. It is very hard to just ignore the President of the United States especially in a time of national crisis. Even with Federalism the President still wields enormous power and also the bully pulpit. What the President says and tweets does have an effect on the markets and we can track market changes based upon rhetoric from the White House. Also most of our Presidents have had big egos but we've never had someone who is both relentlessly narcissistic but also has the tools of mainstream and social media to spread his narcissism. Even if we want to ignore him he wouldn't allow it.

I think there is some bipartisanship going on but it won't get positive coverage from the news outlets you listed. The President has specifically taken those news outlets to task and labels them as fake news. And so it appears (to me) that those outlets have an axe to grind and go out of their way to report news out of context to paint Trump in a bad light. Not that he needs help, but I don't believe there actually is a neutral news source in America at this time. Unfortunately, you have to read both the political left & right outlets and form your own opinion. Because the same story will read two different ways. The AP or NPR does a better job of not inserting their opinions but it still trickles through depending on the author. It would be awesome if FOX, CNN, etc.. had to disclaim they are an 'entertainment' source and any news outlet that actually intends to provide unbiased facts would not have to carry that disclaimer but be subject to scrutiny and would have to state their errors or be forced to carry the disclaimer.
