It is China and The Who's fault. It does work because that is who people blame primarily. It's not some conspiracy to save him. It's just the hierarchy of blame. Trump's share of blame is considerably smaller. Stop deflecting for evil communists! Ironic that treason is listed at the top of what you post.
China's and The Who for failing to contain it. Absolutely this goes all the way back to them covering it up and allowing international travel from the hot zone while banning it domestically. They knew it was dangerous and STILL spread it to the USA and other countries. The Who also failed. I said Trump has a smaller share of blame and I stand by that. You are welcome to disagree and I know you likely do.
I think within Trump’s very, very large brain that it is more important to announce an action than actually follow through and take the action. The cameras are on when Trump makes the announcement. Performing the action, not so much.
So did Trump and yet he hasnt cut himself off and is still being an embarassment. For all their mistakes, WHO has done much beter at trying to deal with the pandemic than Trump
Many would disagree. They are the reason many countries have over 100 deaths per 1m people. Disgraceful.
So China should detain citizens of other countries and stop them from leaving China? You are really spreading yourself thin there. When China banned flights for their citizens on Januaru 23, why did Trump wait almost 2 weeks to institute a useless ban that still allowed US citizens, residents and their family members to come in from Wuhan and also allowed in non-citizens as long as they were not in Wuhan in the last 14 days (even though the virus had been spreading for months)? I advise you guys move on to the next potential blame target on your list (may be Pence or Santa Claus) cos the China/WHO duo not going to stick
Then 'Many' either do not know the job of their leaders or simply have incompetent leaders. Or was it the WHO that spread the viruses to those people? WHO is not responsible for how each country responds to a pandemic. That is the job of the leaders of those countries to protect their own people.
That’s also true for a handful of states in the US. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1109011/coronavirus-covid19-death-rates-us-by-state/ Looking at death rate relative to total population as a measure for comparing how effective the response has been by different countries is a little strange, to me, since there would naturally be a strong correlation between that and population density, and land area, given that it has to physically spread through contact. And many other factors too (age distribution, mobility within the population, etc.).
Expecting a trump tweet complaining about fox news in three two one... luckily former journalist brit hume was there to wave off the truth...
Well Brett.... why is that??? Maybe that's the case because FoxNews has helped cultivate an acceptance of an autocratic regime to fight the evil Democrats and their terrorist antifa communist voters. They want to know why Conservatives are no longer conservative in any way shape or form, but now have a voting base that is pro-autocracy....??... how about start with.... FOX NEWS. They destroyed Republican Conservativism... if there ever was that to begin with and it wasn't just a ploy to create a Two Santa Clause system that benefited them politically. In fact it's never been about Conservativism since Nixon. It's about culture. FoxNews is the most guilty party in all of this in making that cultural division a Grand Canyon sized divide stoked by fear, anger, disinformation, racism, and lies. F them, and Brett Beir can shove it.
I agree it is not WHOs responsibilty to handle response of each country but it was absolutely thier job to warn of the threat and they failed. I dont believe kowtowing to china is their job either but maybe it actually is their job due to $$$
I give brett a lot of credit. He is taking on the role that Shepard Smith previously had. Especially after seeing how Smith and others were railroaded out for reporting truthfully. I'm sure he will get lectured on straying off the fox message and will be reporting trump-friendly news but you have to give kudos where due.
The best antidote to hot takes is hard data, and the latest Daily Kos/Civiqs poll is here with your cure. This survey of 1,600 adults was conducted online from April 11-14 and reveals that 54% of Americans disapprove of the way Donald Trump is handling the coronavirus response.
As the nation faces the novel coronavirus pandemic, Donald Trump’s reelection campaign has made time to file a defamation lawsuit against a TV station in Wisconsin, as reported by the Associated Press. Why? The lawsuit, filed in Wisconsin state circuit court, seeks unspecified monetary damages (plus legal fees) because the NBC affiliate station ran a commercial of compiled clips where Trump downplayed the seriousness of the virus. As he did over, and over, and over again. Of particular relevance in the ad—and the suit—lies in this snippet of Trump’s words: “this is their new hoax.” His reelection campaign argues that Trump did not technically call the coronavirus a “hoax,” but rather was referencing the way progressives have responded to his approach. Basically: They’re arguing the cut of the ad intentionally took his words out of context and was misleading. Priorities USA, a Democratic super PAC, made the ad. Whether or not this defamation suit actually goes anywhere is one issue. The bigger issue, perhaps, is whether such a suit will make similarly small-budget local outlets pause before running ads critical of Trump. The campaign reportedly sent cease and desist letters to this station, and other similarly small, local outlets in Michigan, Minnesota, Florida, and Pennsylvania in March. The connection at a glance? Major battleground states. At this point, the PAC began fundraising to keep the ad running on air.
