John Prine has died of the Coronavirus. The virus is democratic, apparently. Little d. It will take anyone and it just took John. I saw him at Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic in 1973. A great talent and song writer. I saw him a couple of other times. Heck, he played the Cullen Auditorium at UH in 1978.

I hate what’s happening. Absolutely hate it.

I bought some yeast last weekend and noticed all the baking powder was gone. Everyone got bored I guess.

When I was at the grocery store a week ago, the supplies of most things seem normal, other than eggs being triple the price. Just read a couple of days ago that dairy farmers are dumping tons of milk because of a reduced demand-- guess all the boxes of milk given to students at school were a big thing for the demand.

Good to see the laptop donations. I've made a few small contributions to an organization that help provide devices and internet access to low-income families. Access to tech/info won't fix everything, but it's a worthwhile step.

    End times be rough.

Not sure how I'm gonna wipe my ass with it.

Might as well give it a shot like the 3 shells thing.

    Looks like it's a bit cheaper than that : https://www.goodrx.com/colchicine ... 30 pills is about $50-$65.

So China is lying about their numbers... Trump says it's going away that there is a light at the end of the tunnels... Doctors say they need more testing... Trump says we have the best tests in the world... WHO says the worst is yet to come...

What on earth are we to believe???

    China lied.

Trump admin is right. There is light at the end of the tunnel and the curve is flattening.

We continue to need A LOT (like 100x) more tests and especially reliable antibody testing.

The WHO look like clowns, but the worst might be yet to come for the less developed countries.

    There's your summary.

It's not easy but it's being done. We've sent thousands of people home with their desktops and monitors. Approximately 100K - 150K people, many of those people perform shift work where it can be seat-sharing scenario of 3 to 1 or 6 to 1 ratio, so more devices are needed in this case.

Trump also said on February 26th that the number of cases in the U.S. would go down to zero within a couple of days.

Lies imply intention. China most likely purposely depressed their number, qualifying as a lie.

But the numbers everywhere except for maybe South Korea are not reliable. Those aren’t lies but are also severely depressed numbers.

Define the light at the end of the tunnel. The curve will flatten. Maybe June is when things can start to slowly open back up. Return to normal will happen - but only when either we have an effective treatment or vaccine. Until then, it’s a gamble but one you can control if you can test, isolate and trace. We will still have hot spots everywhere within the nation and outside. Restrictions will still be ongoing. The goal should be transitioning from mitigation to containment - what many Asian countries are at currently (yet they still have much restriction on large group, school closure, busn closures). Real normal is still way out there.
