I guess that this is one of the main reason for the death rate in Belgium:
    https://www.hln.be/nieuws/binnenlan...ingen-in-ons-land-in-woonzorgcentra~a889b543/
They say that about a third of all the cases in Belgium are in nursing homes.

    Just found this intersting
    https://www.hln.be/nieuws/binnenlan...a-zonder-er-zelf-iets-van-te-merken~a2676f87/
They decided to test all of the pepole that are coming for scheduled hospitalization in UZ Brussel hospital and found that 5 out of 50(10%) were asymptotic cariers.

Zithromax is a derivative of Erythromycin .... I think the combo being used is Hydroxychloroquine/Chloroquine combined with Zithromax

Unfortunately for some of us (like me), I'm allergic to Erythromycin so the Chloroquines may be the only option for me

those are antbibiotics, the reason people use azithro is because it has anti-inflammatory properties. This stuff is largely conjecture, antibiotics are use to target bacteria, can't use vs viruses. When controlled trials come out I think people will be disappointed

It's to batle the bacterial pneumonia.
Bacterias can find the opportunity when someone has viral pneumonia to attack as well.
Especially in hospitaisations when there is big danger of inhospital infections

But that's it. We can only battle the bacteria (and not super bacteria who have resistance to antibiotics), but it doesn't help people dying from the virus.

    Oxygen though is absolutely necessary.
If someone has dyspnea imo they shouldn't wait to consult with their doctor over the phone.
    Just go to the hospital.
We are seeing what happens to those who wait.
If you have too many breaths per minute or your oxymeter shows a dangerous level, just go.

Time to shut up and get back to work.

You and your lazy liberals are NOT going to end our way of life.

Go to church. Go to the restaurant and mall and have big family gatherings and pot luck dinners.

yeah that's what i had texted him, asking if it was simply for secondary bacterial infections... and then he replied back about "antiviral properties"

    will ask again tomorrow

Googled a bunch when azithromycin was first mentioned.

Apparently azithromycin showed antiviral properties during Zika research. They dont understand why, but in trials it significantly affected viral load repeatedly.

There is a very specific identified segment of RNA in the bacterial ribosome that azithromycin binds to and disrupts to prevent bacterial replication not present in virii, so however it works against a virus, it works differently than it works against bacteria.

Finland just put their capital Helsinki and its suburbs in complete lockdown. Noone can exit. 1/3 of the population. This is with only 3 deaths.

The decision came after the Finnish health authority worsened its forecast for the outbreak, estimating that between 11,000 and 15,500 people would be hospitalised and that between 3,600 and 5,000 of them would require intensive care in the following months.

Exactly the opposite with what their neighbours Sweden is doing, where the PM is inviting people to go dine out and get infected on purpose for herd immunity.
