Those Celtic teams of the 80s were some of the dirtiest teams ever. Very chippy...very cheap shotty. But boy were they good.

Nowhere near as hate-able as the Utah Jazz.

He kicked the Orlando Magic's ass in 4 straight games. Does that count?

The McDyess one always puzzled me, that one happened many years after Hakeem found his "chill" and he was a what a 15 year vet by then? I always wondered what it was McDyess whispered in his ear bc Hakeem was freakin triggered. I remember the night of the fight a reporter asked what McDyess had said to him and Hakeem said that was between them only. Dream always respected the rules of the street.

    From an old article...

    https://www.nytimes.com/1984/03/31/sports/the-final-four-houston-virginia-keeping-a-big-date.html

Houston's 7-foot, 250-pound Olajuwon and Virginia's 6-10, 210- pound Polynice have friendly personalities, but that was not evident when they met in February and the national television cameras captured Olajuwon's elbow going to Polynice's upper chest.

''All I did was play good defense,'' said Polynice, the freshman who was born in Haiti and graduated from All Hallows High School in the Bronx. ''I think he wasn't used to it,'' Polynice said. ''Finally, he just retaliated. My ma told me to kill him. She was really mad.''

The incident has overshadowed Olajuwon's excellent play for the second straight tournament and the progress Polynice has made in the position Sampson once occupied.

Olajuwon, who was voted the outstanding player in last year's Final Four, scored 12 points with 14 rebounds in Houston's victory over Virginia in February. Polynice scored 11 points with 5 rebounds.

''I'm hoping I outplay him,'' Polynice said, and smiled. ''If I don't, maybe I'll just pop him.''

Akeem was a bad ass, one with a short temper. We were lucky the rules weren’t what they are today. Dream would have missed a heck of a lot of games. His pocketbook wouldn’t have liked it, either. He didn’t do it to be intimidating. His play was plenty intimidating. The big fella just wouldn’t put up with any BS. Almost cost us game 5 against the Lakers in the ‘85-‘86 WC Finals, when Riley told Mitch Kupchak to goad Akeem into taking a swing, or two, or three. Bye bye! A healthy Ralph Sampson stepped up and closed out the defending champs. What a game!

Dream beat the crap out of Robinson for six straight games in the 1995 NBA Western Conference finals!!!

The worst beating of a man I've ever seen in my life!! Prime Olajuwon was a BEAST!!

Every time I see Michael Cage on the Thunder broadcast, I am reminded of him getting owned by the Dream. :)
