Yes, it's already in every state, but preventing hundreds of thousands more from spreading out is a start. The careless will continue flying if they can. The spring breakers and crowds on Bourbon Street will continue partying as long as they can. People will travel while they are allowed to. Why make a bad situation worse?

Trump signals growing weariness with ‘social distancing’ and other steps advocated by health officials

"The White House has already been showing some signs of loosening its response to the pandemic. On Sunday, Vice President Pence, who leads the coronavirus task force, said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will soon issue guidance allowing people exposed to the coronavirus to return to work sooner by wearing a mask for a period of time."

If the US had actual widespread testing, then maybe the social isolation measure could be eased without a medical disaster. But we don’t. And whose fault is it?

Maybe God sent the virus to expose to people how horrible a person Trump is.....because

    Defaulting a children's charity didn't do it
Defrauding a populace with a fake college didn't do it
Caging children and separating them from their parents didn't do it
Lying daily about, pretty much everything - didnt' do it.

So, the good lord said, let me hit those morons in the head with a virus.....that should do it.

If only we have a robust testing and monitoring system in place in order to do this without risking killing millions. p.s. several states have now said their health care system is on the path toward collapsing in 3-4 weeks if the trend continue.

Yours because all 6 million tests are now available in Walmart parking lot or the Google test; Trump can't help people like you who refuse to help themselves.

SMDH. Not a good move. We need to be encouraging people to keep distance.

And this is why it was always problematic to have a president (any president) have so many competing interests.

Trump and his properties (i.e. hotels, resorts, etc.) are taking a huge financial hit because of this shut down. So he has a vested interested to tell everyone to return to the status quo, even if that is not in the actual best interest of the country or our collective safety and health.

And history has shown, over and over again; if presented with a selfish option or an option that is best for many, but hurts a few, he will take the selfish option that mainly benefits he and his rich friends.

The writing is on the wall.

He is going to lift the restrictions in a week and risk a second round of infections that could lead to MASSIVE destruction to the economy.

Blue States will still impose them but a lot of Red States will be terrified of being attacked so will follow Trump's lead.

He's the first president where I legitimately worried something disastrous could happen, and it looks like he's finally gonna make that fear a reality.

FWIW, I've been in a rip the band-aid off mindset, but only after 45 days or so. An extended 75-90 economic shutdown is a non option. However our numbers may not have even peaked by the time he's gonna lift this, much less be under control.
