Italian governors and mayors these past days: Look what some people are doing to avoid the quarantine. It's a miracle that the human species has achieved what it has achieved with so much widespread stupidity.
Trust me nothing wrong with this, I just bought New York Times Sunday edition will last me thru 2 weeks.
Please stay home and don't feel guilty. It is the right thing to do not to go to work. If it is positive then you need to be quarantined anyway. But more than that you need to do the best for your son. I am praying that you hear good news and it isn't anything serious!
She’s stocking up for this pandemic and next two. Her great-great grand kids won’t have to worry when the one in 2120 hits
on the bright side, nothing wipe better than blue shop towels honestly , I went grocery shopping mainly for Pepsi/coke and milk , cheese, bread and Olive, the rest aren't essential including masks and gloves
per Gov Abbott, no statewide lockdown??? but we've been told from sources from friends of friends of friends of bro's cousins sisters that this was coming like 2 weeks ago and counting
Haha, that's great on shop towels. I definitely agree with you on my priorities when I've gone to the store too- not looking for masks/gloves but food
One thing I don't understand about the numerous projections about COVID-19 which suggests millions of infected alone in the USA is: the relatively low number of infected in China. As your links and other news pieces from the past two weeks show, China despite being the epicenter of the virus has under 100k infected after more than 3 months. Furthermore the number of new cases are falling dramatically the past few weeks. Is the difference between the projections for the U.S. and China due to how the two countries are able to restrict their population? Or is it that the projections/analysts predicting a further & dramatic rise/spread of the virus in China?
The question is are the numbers coming out of China accurate? Can they be trusted? I don't know at this point.
While I believe the Chinese Govt fudge the numbers or hid the virus at the start of the epidemic, I tend to believe the numbers now. Why? Media outlets such as forbes, Npr and others have not only reported the numbers, but have reported on the reopening of society in the region. Theaters, Museums, Factories, schools, casino's in Macau etc are all reopened. The same is happening in parts of Japan and S korea. Furthermore, the closing of the temporary hospitals built for the crisis, the donations of millions of masks, equipment by China and the teams of chinese doctors/nurses who fought the virus traveling abroad to europe to work further leads me to believe the numbers.
I was wondering this as well. The number of cases in the US will dwarf China by sometime next week. The US will easily have the most cases of any country before this is all over.
So how many cases Houston and Texas has? How many deaths and how many ICUs? What measures have been taken? Is everything except bars, schools, cinemas and restaurants open ?
I'm up near the Woodlands and I noticed one of the corner clinics today has drive through testing. There was a guy in full gear out there under a tent waiting to give tests. 0 cars in line.
Did you drive up to see what’s going on? If they charge for it? What they need to do it? How long it takes to get results? Just curious. We live in Austin, so we wouldn’t be going over there anyway, but some here might be interested.
There's still dine-in in some places. In Ennis (outside of Dallas, but different county) a Chili's was open Tuesday of last week and Lubbock (Texas Tech country) has restaurants still open as of yesterday. These are just the places I know of. Some restaurants are seating every other table for social distance, but I don't believe all are even practicing that.
