Remember how Bush was up to 90 percent approval after Sept 11? This is Trump's high water mark. This is the rally round the flag. His normal 40% approval. When the fatalities go to 1000, 10000, worse, and GDP contracts by 10%, and unemployment is at 15 or 16, this will be a distant memory. We're about to smash every single record in terms of economic collapse. In a month. Enjoy it. His presidency ended about 2 weeks ago.
That poll’s an outlier, Astrodome. I checked at RealClearPolitics.com and their summery of polling data on trump’s approval rating and he’s underwater, 44.3% approve and 52% disapprove. That’s averaging several polls, I believe. It looks more realistic to me. That’s a grim view. Are you talking about what’s coming down the pike with the virus? I’m pretty pessimistic myself. Like you, I’m hoping I’m wrong. You’re certainly right about me wasting my time with my response that you quoted. He’s in his own strange little world. The average joe wouldn't know better. It's like the travel ban, while it seems like a good move on the surface, the fact that there are big holes in it makes it useless ( e.g. doesn't restrict citizens and people can contract by interacting on a plane or at an airport even if they haven't visited a hot spot, and, it is pointless once the infection is in the community). Most things Trump has done has not done much to limit the hell that is likely to come. US is at 20k underestimated infected and we will soon be in the hundreds of thousands with proportionate deaths following. It will be more telling in 6 months how well he has handled things

Perhaps approve of the govt response. But Trump? The orange God said it would disappear just weeks ago and it was under control. He doesn’t have one single f*cking idea what he even saying half the time. Yeah he’s doing absolutely great.

Yes they are capitalizing on the virus itself (even though they did not create it). It will backfire. This is a national security risk. After this pandemic most of the Vital drugs and medical equipment will be made in North America instead of China. Just watch.

Chinese cultural practices directly led to the creation of this virus. The last 4 global pandemics originated in China. Of course they would be better prepared for something they directly create.
