Trump is responsible for the United States. He is the leader of this nation and it is his responsibility to deal with the crisis. As I mentioned, had Trump shown leadership, he wouldn't have stopped the virus. He would absolutely have reduced his impact. Americans can and should put the most focus on what our government did right and wrong in dealing with this crisis. It doesn't matter what China did, the virus was going to get here. Had they done things differently it might have helped. But we don't have a say in what they did and shouldn't put too much energy into their issues. We should focus on that in which we do have a say. That is the steps and missteps of our own government. A hero would be great, but I'm not anointing anyone a hero in this case.
Thing is, I know Trumpanzees at work who were obviously getting their "facts" from Trump and FOX ("but the flu is much worse, right?") and giving me that "what do you expect from a liberal?" look when I gave the mortality rates. They won't be doing that now. Now Trump has flipped to finally taking things seriously. It won't change six weeks of bullshitting, but his supporters will believe he was on top of this the whole time.

Nope, never supported or voted for Trump but you baboons can't process that. I try to keep it non-partisan and real with politics regardless of affiliation. I prefer Sanders because his record is clean and honest. One of the few who has stayed true to his word for decades to his own detriment. Not a snake oil salesmen political flip flopper like Trump and Biden. I can vote for honest men even if we disagree on certain policies.

I agree with the point you are making. I’ve said elsewhere that trump is a racist, he’s spouted racist remarks today aimed at Asian and Chinese Americans, as well as those in China and elsewhere. He’s a xenophobic bigot determined to make the responsibility for the lost weeks when we could have been preparing for this anyone’s fault except his own. He was belittling the threat of the virus over and over again, and is now pretending that he never did. At this point, one could call it the Swiss virus, the Italian virus. That’s not a suitable “enemy,” so trump’s attempting to make it China. Notice that he doesn’t mention Russia, who is pumping out lies nonstop about the virus. Having said that, the Chinese regime is doing what trump is doing, attempting to make this disaster and their own poor initial response someone else’s fault by making the ludicrous claim that somehow we created it. Russia is busy repeating the lies. I would like to stick to science. I’ve posted plenty of science here, and praised those who found good information. I’m not going to ignore what China, Russia, and trump are doing, however. At least I am free to complain about it, which can’t be said for the citizens of China.
Want to be accurate, at least as the virus pertains to the US? Call it the trumpvirus. He deserves the moniker. Certainly more than neutral Spain did during the First World War. The fellow has told one lie after another about the trumpvirus, starting back in January. He told more lies today. He’s an endless lie producing machine. Mr trump has told so many lies that people tend to shrug it off. “Oh, that’s just another lie. It’s trump. So what? Doesn’t matter.” Except it does matter. It matters a great deal. He’s lying about a global catastrophe that has now taken root in our own country. Meanwhile, a country like South Korea has had a vastly superior response to the epidemic than the US has under trump. It’s embarrassing, and it is dangerous to us all.

Chinese system takes complains more seriously .......They value results more than process. That's why citizens of China is free from the virus after one month, which can not be said for the citizens of USA.
