I know. That was sarcasm. I was talking about how these selfish people are coping with their new reality. One would hope that now that the weekend is over and things get a little more real that we can truly start to deal with this in a more adult like way as a society.

If this is an accurate preview of what a modern day apocalypse would look like it’s a pretty good sign that guns don’t really matter that much and what does matter is good homesteading skills like backyard gardening, water treatment skills, and just straight up good hygiene. The real apocalypse heroes won’t be Rick Grimes from the walking dead but Matt Damon from The Martian.

    This is no preview.

This is a disease that has a death rate of less than 2% that mostly kills older people by a wide margin with the vast majority of people having mild symptoms. As bad as that can be, it's nothing compared to what a pandemic on the scale of a bird flu would case.

Imagine a disease that had even a 25% mortality rate (bird flu has 60%!!!!) and killed indiscriminately. Imagine a disease that if your kids got it, they are likely to die.

Now imagine that running rampant in the United States.

Guns would suddenly matter because people would kill people for supplies and to keep them from infecting their kids.

    What control?
Let me show you the population statistics of India
    Median age : 28.1 y.o
72.4% is under the age of 40.
    Over 70s is 3.2%.

It is impossible to know unless an urban centre is hit very very hard.
For rural areas or towns it is impossible.
They give "coconut water" to their elders themselves. The virus can save them a lot of trouble.

Seems like the CCP is sending a subtle message to us through Jack Ma. It's still a kind gesture and much appreciated but will this administration accept it?

Given the ages and health of some of the justices, probably a wise move. But every time someone says "overreacting", or "hoax", or "Democrat/media plot" someone should ask in the USSC is part of this conspiracy...

And gee, just think: Russia leads the world, with 40% of its population smoking, compromising 4 in every 10 lungs for a disease known to go right after a person's ability to oxygenate their blood.

    Hmmm.

Deep partisan divide over coronavirus threat: poll

But the poll, which was conducted almost entirely before President Trump declared a national emergency on Friday, points to a wide partisan divide on attitudes regarding the outbreak.

Sixty-eight percent of Democrats said they were concerned that a family member could contract the virus. But that number dropped to 40 percent among Republicans. Nearly eight in 10 Democrats felt the worst was yet to come in coping with the pandemic. That number dropped in half to 40 percent among Republicans.

Six in 10 Democrats said they’ve stopped or plan to stop going to any large gatherings. That percentage dropped in half for Republicans. And 47 percent of Democrats, but just 23 percent of Republicans, said they were canceling or rescheduling travel plans.

Is there anything that isn't partisan anymore? I mean this is just going too far.

Montgomery County latest update on Coronavirus confirmed cases (odd none on elderly but no info on other health risks):

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County is currently holding with 4 positive cases of #COVID-19. We have not yet received CDC confirmation on the cases.

We received updates on their conditions this morning.

Case # 1 – A man, in his 40s, who is a resident of Northwest Montgomery County. He did not travel outside of Texas. He did attend the BBQ Cookoff related to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on February 28th. Montgomery County Public Health District was notified on March 12th that his condition had declined, and he is still in critical condition. We can also confirm that his case is connected to a presumptive positive case of a woman in her 30s who resides in Galveston County, although she is currently located in the Austin area.

Case # 2 – A woman, in her 40s, who resides in Southeast Montgomery County. Travel to New Orleans. She is still in critical condition in a hospital in Harris County.

Case # 3 - A man, in his 40s, who resides in Northwest Montgomery County. His only travel is to the State of Florida. He is in good condition in a hospital in Montgomery County.

Case # 4 - A woman, in her 40s, who resides in Northwest Montgomery County. Her case is connected to Case # 3. She is in isolation at home and is doing well.

This is not even remotely a preview. If you want a preview, see Katrina.

These are the top 5 most important things in society:
    1)Internet
    2)Power for AC\heat (and internet)
    3)Running water
    4)Food
    5)Fuel

None of these have even remotely been affected. You remove one of these and you have a true crisis.

    Are you really surprised?

Anything, of any kind, that makes Supreme Leader Trump look bad is a liberal conspiracy. He is literally infallible to a large segment of this country. The fact that even he finally started to take this seriously should tell people this isn't the yearly outbreak hype we usually have

50% chance we are on total nationwide quarantine starting Wednesday. Essential personnel will be allowed to work (healthcare workers, groceries, factories).

U.S. Health Agency Suffers Cyber-Attack During Covid-19 Outbreak

    Bloomberg

    March 16, 2020, 8:37 AM EDT Updated on March 16, 2020, 9:28 AM EDT

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department suffered a cyber-attack on its computer system Sunday night during the nation’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, according to three people familiar with the matter.

The attack appears to have been intended to slow the agency’s systems down, but didn’t do so in any meaningful way, said the people, who asked for anonymity to discuss an incident that was not public.

The National Security Council tweeted just before midnight: “Text message rumors of a national #quarantine are FAKE. There is no national lockdown. @CDCgov has and will continue to post the latest guidance on #COVID19.”

The NSC tweet was related to the hacking and the release of disinformation, according to one of the people. The government realized Sunday that there had been a cyber intrusion and false information was circulating.

    The hacking involved multiple incidents.

The tweet was in part meant to address the hacking, which involved multiple incidents. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and other Trump administration officials are aware of the incident, one of the people said.

It doesn’t appear that the hackers took any data from the systems, one of the people said. Administration officials assume that it was a hostile foreign actor, but there is no definitive proof at this time.
