This is no preview. This is a disease that has a death rate of less than 2% that mostly kills older people by a wide margin with the vast majority of people having mild symptoms. As bad as that can be, it's nothing compared to what a pandemic on the scale of a bird flu would case. Imagine a disease that had even a 25% mortality rate (bird flu has 60%!!!!) and killed indiscriminately. Imagine a disease that if your kids got it, they are likely to die. Now imagine that running rampant in the United States. Guns would suddenly matter because people would kill people for supplies and to keep them from infecting their kids.

We have not yet received CDC confirmation on the cases. We received updates on their conditions this morning. Case # 1 – A man, in his 40s, who is a resident of Northwest Montgomery County. He did not travel outside of Texas. He did attend the BBQ Cookoff related to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on February 28th. Montgomery County Public Health District was notified on March 12th that his condition had declined, and he is still in critical condition. We can also confirm that his case is connected to a presumptive positive case of a woman in her 30s who resides in Galveston County, although she is currently located in the Austin area. Case # 2 – A woman, in her 40s, who resides in Southeast Montgomery County. Travel to New Orleans. She is still in critical condition in a hospital in Harris County. Case # 3 - A man, in his 40s, who resides in Northwest Montgomery County. His only travel is to the State of Florida. He is in good condition in a hospital in Montgomery County. Case # 4 - A woman, in her 40s, who resides in Northwest Montgomery County. Her case is connected to Case # 3. She is in isolation at home and is doing well.
