From research, this seems to be about Moderna's attempt to create a vaccine. This article says a vaccine could still be up to 18 months away : https://apnews.com/8089a3d0ec8f9fde971bddd7b3aa2ba1
If true, it's what we are facing, because the UK's response has not been far off from our own. How can they be so bereft of test kits? How can we? Madness.
Hmm, elections coming up and I get a "You're ****ed!" secret memo... Do I tell the truth and own a situation that I'll get universally blamed for regardless of what I do? Or do I act like an ignorant schoolchild and pretend I'm "handling it" by hoping my filthy rich daddy will make it all go away?
We have been sloppy but our trajectory is far more proactive than the UK. Plus we have more time than them. So don't start panicking just yet .
2 of the highest World powers in a world of trouble. Ill just munch on some extra big ass fries, wash it down with a Brondo and finish it off with a Tarrlyton.
Schools shutting down will have a significant ripple effect. Can’t send them to childcare or school but people need to work to pay the bills. Not to mention all the other businesses that will be hurting as people will not be out and about. So many paycheck to paycheck, gig economy uninsured people out there. Curious what the government plans to do. Payroll tax cuts and lower interest rates isn’t the answer.
Italy now has double the active cases of China, over half the deaths that China has had. I think it's likely Italy has over 300k cases currently.
America needs Yang's freedom dividend right about no, hard to make that happen if the economy is taking a nose dive.
I liked what Italy did - pause bill payments and mortgages. People and small businesses will not be able to pay their rent soon. It's going to get ugly if this doesn't get resolved ASAP. And I think the saddest part is the people who are suffering right now is just HOPING that the government does something, but they haven't shown they are prepared starting with the lack of tests available.
Yang's freedom dividend wouldn't be enough. People are scared to go out right now and with that extra $1000, people will just use it to pay their bills, not spend it at restaurants, bars, entertainment, etc.
Lifetime Fitness Greenway Plaza just sent out an email saying they had their first case, and the person with coronavirus used their gym on March 7.
So I had an Instagram story poll yesterday asking if people we were still going to their public gym. 80% said yes. I was shocked, Haven't been to the gym in about a week. Was only planning on going late night to shoot hoops by myself, but decided to just pause it for now - go to LifeTime in CityCenter. But can't imagine trying to use the weights or the machines right now.
Yea, gyms are disgusting. 75% of people I notice at the gym can’t even be bothered to wipe down machines/equipment after use. To me, that’s just common courtesy. Do on to others. People are dirtbags. Hard to imagine going to a gym right now.
