Looking for a low cost high output printer. Could be just Black and white

I have to print a number of the same thing
but at 10 cents a copy .. . I think I might want to just get a high end printer
    and several reems of paper

It is a small office environment and the future may have more printing to do .

With most I am finding that the Replacement Cartridges cost as much as the Printer

Any laser Brother printer will do. Very reliable. Cheap generic toner.

    I was concerned about the cartridges now. . . . .
I have a low end brother and the ink will cost me about 100$ for all four
and then won't print but maybe 200 pages it seems

What model printer? Most Brother printers have generic toners you can buy from Amazon that can print 2500+ pages. Usually $20 each.

I think by low cost you mean ‘cheap’. It’s not going to last long if you go the cheap route. Parts will start to break.

You should really look at the cost per page over a five year period. If you do that you’re going to see that HP is probably a decent deal.

For your info- I have a Ricoh laser printer that I picked up for $80. It’s definitely cheap but Ive been lucky and it’s been fine for several hundred pages but is now starting to complain about low toner so I’ll probably just find a deal on a new printer.

Check out the slickdeals.net hot deals forums for printers.

I work for a printer company, so I won't recommend any particular brand to avoid biases, but I really agree with this recommendation to prioritize longer term cost per page and you should value reliability, build quality, ease of use (display and user interface), ease and availability of support and supplies. While printers are increasingly commodity products there are still differences between products and service/support. Even for my own and family's use of product I have found some printer company's retail offerings are much better than others, so I usually one or two brands.

And interesting you came across a Ricoh product at a crazy good price. Ricoh doesn't target the consumer (why you don't see them at normal retail like Best Buy, Office Deport, Target, and Walmart). But the toner cartridges are sold through easier to access channel including Office Depot. But as you likely found out, the cartridges are priced higher than what you paid for the printer. One reason most consumers have moved towards ink jet.
