The point of my post was that just spouting individual player stats doesnt necessarily tell the whole story... I think Harden has this stigma bc of the fashion in which his series' end... setting turnover records, SAS meltdown, not closing out with a 15pt in 4th lead after losing CP3 to injury...
Tracy only had one season as a rocket that he had better than a 47% TRUE shooting percentage in the playoffs. Where as Harden has never had a true shooting percentage in the playoffs of less than 52% and a career playoff percentage of 58%. I'm not sure you can say Tracy struggled since his regular season true shooting percentage sucked ass also. Tracy was a high volume chucker. https://memeshappen.com/media/created/Hey-man-You-got-any-more-of-them-stats-meme-54655.jpg
Again. Saying "he" when referring to one solo player or the other in 2 different style leagues and teammates isn't as fair to either player as you think. Highly unlikely replacing Harden with T-Mac on those teams would have led to a 2nd round appearance. Yao clogging lanes, garbage 3pt shooting/shooting overall(especially in the playoffs), predictable offense with no adjustments, we'd likely still be 1st round knock outs. For prime- healthy years, it's hard to find another HOF caliber player who had worse teammates than T-Mac. Obviously he started the path by leaving Toronto(chose Orlando over Chicago), but he was really young and no way anyone would have predicted Grant Hill's career would be done as a star and barely play, and Yao would fall apart as tmacs own body would too and garbage team building all around in Orlando and Houston. Imagine if Tim Duncans wife was okay with the weather in Orlando, when Duncan was about to join GHill in teaming up with T-Mac in Orlando...that's another "greatest PF" ever whose career completely changes and maybe he's not seen as top 5 PF assuming GHills massive immovable contract would have kept Orlando from building enough depth around Timmy and TMac. Seriously bad luck of a career for one of the most physically talented players ever.
God speed for nba worldwide. I was surprised when okc lost to LeBron back in 2013 because that okc team had defeated the Lakers in that playoff run. Having said that, I was really never surprised when harden failed to advance in key situations for rockets. I am actually surprised when ever harden has a scoring outburst. The MVP award surprised me too. Thought MVP award for harden was backlash at Westbrook and the Durant situation! MVP award for harden was an over-rating!
Harden is a gifted scorer/offensive weapon. There are alot of things you can say about the guy. Definitely alot of negative things recently with his play but his offensive ability/craftiness is definitely something you have to give the guy. That MVP was definitely deserved that year.
Harden is far better than T-Mac so I disagree. Put Yao and a bunch of tough defenders around Harden and he will generate enough offense to beat the likes of Utah at least once in a series, especially with HCA. T-Mac should’ve put in more work in the offseason. Every year his body fat increased and his face grew wider in circumference. T-Mac should’ve put down the Big Macs and worked harder on his game. His jump shot deteriorated to the point he didn’t even shoot 30% from 3 or 70% from the line in 07-08. CF loves to call Harden lazy and say he doesn’t care, but that applies far more to McGrady. We wish he had Harden’s work ethic. Harden is constantly improving. He’s always working on his game and trying to add new things. T-Mac is the poster child for coasting on your athletic gifts.
Jr Smith can run the same system harden runs. Rockets could sign oj mayo to take 25 shots, three's fifteen three's for alot less. Shoot 25 times, 15 three pointers a game.
This idiot has multiple accounts. Macan, smoothie king and god knows how many more. We need to ban his IP
Can you honestly and unbiasedly write when Tmac failed? He always did his job. He tried, he defended, and he played against way better teams than some bum Utah with Gobert. He went against prime Dirk squads, prime Jerry Sloan etc
Harden is good at beating bad/medicore teams in playoffs. Everytime there was a challenge he lost. He was close, but he Lost every single of them. Remember Rockets were underdogs even in 1st rounds during Tmac era, yao was always injuried, Battier was there but rest of the guys were gleague talent. We celebrated Bonzi Wells and Stromile Swift signing.. most of you remember Tmac past his injuries and he was a bum right then but first two years he came relatively healthy he was beast in playoffs
