I will raise your two non-doctors and three surgeons with my wife who is a pathologist at Methodist and about 8 different doctors ranging from surgeons to anesthesiologists to radiologists who all agree this will be spreading like wildfire in the next few weeks and all of whom are very concerned. This isn’t something that will wipe out the population but they do agree it will kill a significant amount of people and tons will be ill, hopefully with milder effects. Should people be buying 6 months of toilet paper? No. But this is a highly contagious disease and will spread and the hospitals do not have enough respirators for those who may be elderly, weak or who have other underlying health issues if it goes the way experts have been projecting. The ER’s are already seeing a flux of people who have certain symptoms and who are worried and we are only at the tip of infections. and the cdc has been a shitshow and this administration has handled things terribly so far.
