I've seen plenty of non-Bernie folks deride not just Bernie but his supporters on this forum, and vice versa. But I'm not taking sides here. And I'm not excusing anyone for their behavior. I simply thought it made for interesting reading. You're free to interpret it as you wish. And you certainly have a point: Bernie has more followers. But based on this study, they "act pretty much the same as everyone else." (Which is inline with my observations.)
If Bernie pushes Biden on some issues and allows Biden to respond with a message to concerned Bernie supporters...then either implicitly or explicitly endorses Joe at the end of the debate, he will have won god-level respect from me.
Bernie basically gave Biden the test questions... Stated what he was going to ask him at the debate, so his not trying to side swipe Biden... Which I think is very professional... Biden, needs to look at ways to hear Bernie and the progressive concerns... He needs to come to find a way to meet the progressive half way on some issues... May not all of them, but at least the main concerns... T_Man
Sorry. My apologies. Things are getting pretty crazy. The NBA’s season is suspended and likely over until next season, in my opinion. A Jazz player tested positive for the virus. Haven’t heard who. Mr trump gave a weird speech that didn’t reassure me one bit. Few have been tested in this country for the virus. I think people are going to be shocked when the tests are finally widespread. Next January 20th can’t come soon enough. We need a sane person in office, like weeks ago, whoever the Democratic nominee is.
Not just a sane person as president, but sane people in the Senate as well. Time to dump Mitch and his cronies as well.
Should Bernie drop out on Monday? If I’m Bernie, I go into this debate on Sunday with a see-what-happens attitude. Maybe Biden falls flat on his face and says/does something damaging. You never know with Biden. If that doesn’t happen I think he should drop out the next day to avoid the embarrassment of getting clobbered [while still attempting to be competitive] in Florida, Arizona, Ohio and Illinois on Tuesday.
Bernie is going to continue in order to flood the convention with rioting thugs from the dregs of society... he will dangle his endorsement as bait for payment from the DNC just like he did with Clinton. This is about getting tribute in order to buy another house.
I have a feeling that's the plan. If Bernie's happy with Biden's answers, he endorses him on stage at the end of the debate and drops out immediately. If Bernie's unhappy, he slams Biden at the end and game on.
How did you know? I didn't see you at the rioting thug meeting last night. But you should have been there. It was awesome. Bernie was paying us in cold socialist cash for our services. He even gave us free black bandannas. We don't have to buy our own! He really does hand out free stuff. All of us rioting thugs loved that. Bernie was so inspirational. I suspect that he wants to start his own socialist news network. He promised all of us that the squad of rioting Bernie thugs that can get him a Sony Fx9 6k camera and sets of lenses to match will all get an extra three hundred socialist dollars. Since I'm the leader of 'Thug Squad Z' I will get double that amount. There were tens of thousands of us rioting thugs there. We all do so much work for Bernie, he knew we'd show up for the event. He spoke clearly and concisely about why we couldn't flood the convention unless he stayed in the race, but since he was staying in the race, it would make total sense for us to flood the convention. Before he left, Bernie told us he would be heading back to the dregs of society to see if he could recruit some more rioting thugs. I hope to see you at the next meeting.
That is not at all what the thread was turning into, it guys giving real world exp and talking about how the loan forgiveness is just treating the symptoms. So Elpigto is an old guy when he just graduated college ten years ago? Are we headed for a Logan Run type situation?
Who is poking and prodding them? This is an argument I don't understand, How about Bernie supporters stop poking and prodding everybody else? Nobody is just assuming anything we all saw what happened in 2016. How about Bernie supporters stop acting like they know everything and if you disagree you are content a sheep, corporatist or just don't care. Rant off. What do you think should be done to make bernie supporters come out and vote?
I think this is the issue, people really think it's a one sided thing. I'll repost what another poster posted. Hell, on Twitter the day of Super Tuesday 2 there were a ton...a ton of Biden supporters mocking Sanders supporters and basically telling them "We don't need you." one of the trending #s was "ByeByeBernie" As for what should we do to get Bernie supporters out to vote, well, the same thing YOU asked Bernie to do. Compromise. That standard should be held to Biden as well.
Then he's old before his time. Again, Group A are people who are telling Group B what they are doing wrong and need to do based on the personal experiences of group A. They don't know the different circumstances of all the people in group B. As I said, it is one thing to say that you don't think something is fair because you worked hard to eliminate or not have debt. It is another to start talking about how you sacrificed more and worked harder than anyone else without knowing that, it comes off as old people talking about the younger generation not being as tough and resourceful as the older generation.
That article pretty much says that Bernie Bros are a thing it just that everybody else on twitter does the same thing. It still does not answer my question of who is poking and prodding Bernie supporters or are you saying all Bernie supporters are Bernie Bros and even then still who is poking and prodding them? So I guess you are just gonna ignore how Bernie supporters where doing and saying the same thing about Warren after ST. Biden has been mocked since he announced by Bernie supporters and they continue to do so and now you feel some kind of way? I have not asked Bernie to do anything I think he should make his own choice and there are plenty of moderate talking heads who have said the same thing. Moderates have been campaigning this entire time on compromising its Bernie and his supporters who claim there way is the only way to get anything done. I might be wrong but it seems you want everybody to forget the tactics that Bernie supporters have and are still using and want everybody to kiss their asses. So calling for Bernie to get out of the race is poking and prodding yet its ok when it's done to Warren?
The article is actually based on a study that says all supporters behave the same way, so when you act like Bernie Supporters are special in their behavior perhaps you are wrong. Perhaps your opinion on Bernie supporters is blinded by your own bias against the candidate and so you turn a blind eye when the poking and prodding happens to them too. No one said it is okay when it happens to Warren, personally I said I don't care about random Twitter people, I've said that before, but the point of the study is to show that other politician supporters are not much different than Bernie supporters. Also, yes, we had a whole conversation about Bernie and you made it clear that your issue with him is that he doesn't compromise...so I think Biden should compromise too and it has to be more than just words. The reason the GOP is so unified because they actually DO work with every group in their coalition. They give their hard religious demos their red meat, they give their libertarians their red meat, they give their neocons their red meat, everyone gets fed. Meanwhile we already have Biden saying he'd veto a M4A bill...so yeah, compromise has to be more than just a "Unity" speech. I don't know what tactics you speak of either. Posting opinions on twitter are not tactics. It's just people posting opinions on twitter.
When did I say Bernie supporters are special? I consider Bernie Bros as separate entities and don't consider all Bernie supporters the same. So Warren has issues with random twitter opinions? The GOP is not unified we just that is evident because of how many republican seats got flipped in 2018 do to republicans voting democrats in the suburbs. So getting behind M4A is a compromise? Why is this not considered a compromise? Biden’s health-care plan is surprisingly liberal. It goes way beyond the ACA and enrolls millions of people in government health care, including everyone who was denied Medicaid because they live in a Republican hold-out state that refused the ACA’s Medicaid expansion. It auto-enrolls low-income people whenever they have an interaction with the government. It allows anyone, even those with employer-provided insurance, to join a government plan.
LOL - this is the opposite of what they do. Everyone who wasn't 100% on board with Trump got primaried away or simply retired to not have to deal with it. The rest just scrapped their lifelong views on trade and other issues to fall in line. That's how the GOP is so unified.
