I don't know if canceling games is going to make a difference. This virus isn't magically going away. The opportunity to contain it has passed - that was back in Feb when you could test everyone coming into this country. The cat is out of the bag. It's going to spread. There is no stopping this. But if we closes all the schools, how will single mothers work? How will anyone work? How will we buy food? If 10 people can't get together to play a basketball game, how the hell are we going to have check-out lines at the supermarket? How will the economy survive? How will businesses survive? We are talking about months, not weeks, and we are talking about at least a year before a vaccine. How will society survive for the next year? The scope and scale of what is happening isn't dawning on everyone. Maybe you quarantine the entire country for two weeks and test anyone who wants to come to the US when they get on their flight or hold people at the border. But short of that, how do you stop the spread?

Not going to happen soon. Vaccines can backfire - causing infections to actually be worse. That's why they take so long to develop. The wrong antibody in your body can make you more susceptible to a disease.
Save lots of lives now and later. Quarantine everyone for 2 weeks - give people 2 weeks to get food stocked up and get ready. Close all borders and put the country on lockdown for two weeks to clear transmission. No one leaves their homes. Test everyone by using people who have recovered from infection to test like the census. Extend all credit and bills for one month at 0 interest. Provide emergency loans to cover utilities for those who need it during the lockdown. Once lockdown is over, test everyone again. Those who have recovered can be given a blue card meaning they are immune. Anyone else needs to be checked periodically and quarantined if they test positive. Test anyone who gets on a plane or a boat to the us. Or drives into the country. This way things can return to relative normal sooner.
