For Sanders, the 1994 crime bill was a compromise for him. For Biden, it's what he led with, desired and endorsed. Biden literally helped write the bill.

You know who else supported and pushed that crime bill at the time? Black activists, black politicians, black pastors, black mayors, black community leaders, and black voters. This is why Bernie's attacks on this go nowhere - black communities know where they stood and that Biden stood with them, even if it turns out that, in hindsight, it didn't work the way anyone intended.

CBS reported slap at first, but better audio quality came out and they changed it.

    I
Hope? Yet you are willing to vote green over Biden. Hope? Sounds like you are doing the same thing that you claim Biden is doing “discrediting oneself”.

Yeah I mean, why not? I got Trump, total POS, and then I got Biden being a total POS cursing and threatening violence towards a man today. Before seeing that **** I fully intended voting for Biden, now I don't know.

It's just so ****ing ridiculous to support either of these people, despite Trump certainly being worse in the short run. I politically align with the green party, my number 1 concerns are healthcare and the environment, so it would be easy for me to give my support to this party over 2 unacceptable candidates.

Also, I'm not sure what outcome would even be better in the long run between Trump and Biden, it's really a 50/50 to me. On one hand, Trump is horrendous, on the other Biden is bad, and I honestly believe he's the perfect candidate to get another Republican elected in 2024. This country is dying for improvement, we are decades behind the developed world on so many issues I'm deeply concerned with. Joe is offering to keep the status quo, and that's exactly what led to Trump...That seems like a recipe for disaster. So should I want to support the green party, potentially leading to 1 step backwards with the chance of 2 steps forward in 2024? Or should I support an unacceptable candidate with 0 steps (better right now) but with the chance of 2 steps backwards in 2024? I haven't thought it through too much, my original thought is just voting Biden, but his actions today has blurred that thought.

It's tough, I'm disgusted with politics in America, but it's what the voters have chosen, and it's what the voters will get.

Joe seems to be getting along with Obama rather well and I would say Obama should be able to do a good test of character over the years that he had Biden around him - he even gave him a presidential medal of honor.

Let's make it 2024 first before starting to fret about election that year. How can you be so sure that we would only take 1 step back if Trump is in power? How do you know that we will only take 1 step forward if Biden is in power? What does that even mean. Why not live in the current and be pragmatic solving current problems that effect you right now?

I get it that Biden is acting like a bully. But you have to keep in mind that this could be politics, fatigue, entitlement. It doesn't point to the guy completely lacking morals like the current president. Let's not equate the two..

    just my 2 cents.

Really? That would come as a surprise to all of those protests for more gun control and all of those Democratic candidates such as Ralph Northam and Beto O'Rourke making gun control a central plank in their platforms. It would also come as a surprise as all of those politicians against more gun control are in the Right and the current GOP has made stopping more gun control part of their platform.
This is the point though Sanders ran as a Democrat because he thinks it will give him the best shot to win the Presidency. If you run as a member of the major party then there are certain expectations for being a member of that major party. That is the trade off. It would be like saying I want to play in the NBA because that gets me the best shot to be the best at Basketball. If I do that I then will be subject to the NBA league rules and organization. If you think the NBA is a monopoly and bad for basketball there is always the option to not play for the NBA with the understanding that I might not get the level of competition and money.

You're making an argument for principle. Well if that is important for you and Sanders then don't run as a part of the two party system even if it cost you an election. I know as a supporter of Dean Barkley, Tom Horner, Tim Penny, and Tammy Lee.. Who are those people? They are members of MN Independence Party who I campaigned for.

You call it empty rhetoric yet you acknowledge why he chose to run as a Democrat. How empty is it for condemning the system yet doing nothing substantially about it like running or supporting another party.

Consider some of the stuff that Biden did during the Obama administration. He pushed Obama on same-sex marriage when Obama came into office saying he wasn't for it but for Civil Unions. He opposed the surge in Afghanistan even though Obama ultimately agreed to it. He pushed the public option for the ACA. Biden hasn't been just some Obama bone to the Blue Dogs but in a several cases has been to the left of Obama.

Of course you would compare politics to sports entertainment.

This is fruitless. I don't understand why I bother. I am very aware that if Bernie ran as a third party Candidate, the only thing he would accomplish is help Trump be reelected which will result in you being two faced and in this hypothetical timeline b****ing about Sanders playing spoiler as the third party candidate stealing potential Democrat votes. I damn well known it and you damn well known it.

So ya, it's pointless to have this debate.

And yes gun control is not an inherent liberal policy. It's a Democrat policy that is used as red meat for the college educated suburban demographic. There is nothing inherently progressive about gun buy backs and banning types of rifles. There are thousands of liberal/socialist gun owners and hobbiests.

Joe Biden has cleared the Democratic field mainly due to name recognition and the support of party leadership. I think by now even his most staunchest supporters can agree that he is a truly awful retail politician. Iowa and New Hampshire proved that. His gaffe-prone status, his declining mental faculties, his links to very serious pay-to-play corruption, his documented history of plagiarism, and his history of perverted sniffing and groping behavior make him a dangerous selection for the Democratic faithful.

Bottom line is I wouldn't trust him to drive my kids' school bus. For more than one reason.

    GOOD DAY

Gaffe-prone? Your boy lies with every other word, and “Gaffe” has a picture of Trump next to it in Webster’s dictionary. The excuse is “Trump being Trump”.

You can't be serious that it's 50/50 between who is worse for the future between Trump and Biden. Of all the issues you purport to care about, another Trump term will be more than "one step back"; it will fundamentally alter the nature of the American courts for the rest of our lives, perhaps see the reversal of any healthcare protections we enjoy (remember: the Trump administration is suing, right now, to overturn all of Obamacare and take away healthcare for 21M people). You really think that another Trump term would be the "one step backward" before 2024? Here's a hint: 2016 was your "one step backward" and Bernie has less support now than he did four years ago.

This is not a Kang vs. Kodos situation.

If your number one priorities are healthcare and the environment then this election is asking you to vote on St Peter or Satan on those issues. No, Biden isn’t Jesus on them but he’s so far beyond what Trump is that’s is really baffling to hear anyone say he’s a bad candidate that cares about those issues

I get you're salty about Bernie losing, but four more years of Trump is an absolute nightmare. Come off the "well Biden is just like Trump" drama queen nonsense. There's a night and day difference between a normal human as president vs. the dangerous buffoon in the White House. If nothing else, another Trump SC appointee would be devastating. This is a fight for our country and it's above your pettiness. I hate to insult people, but the idea of voting third party right now is absolutely bonkers

But Biden once said something mean to someone. So he's the same as Trump.

They are not equal. A person making bad choices when dealing with a liar and ******* isn't the same as Trump's long string of years saying and doing horrible things, treating people horribly, defrauding people, advocating violence to large numbers of people multiple times, etc.

Making bad decisions one time when there's a liar harassing you, in a situation where passions are high and you need to act quickly to put an end to it doesn't make someone a total POS.

As I said, I didn't want Biden to win, and I feel horrible having to defend him here, but it just isn't the same.

If the election is a purity test, then Joe Biden is disqualified. Biden has a well-documented pattern of both corruption and perverted behavior. As his mental faculties decline even further, who knows what mistakes he'll make at critical junctures? If you can't trust the man to drive a school bus (for more than one reason), then you surely can't trust him to take on the most demanding job in the world.

speaking to the wrong audience lmao. I applaud your efforts at trolling, it's heroic, but Biden is a far superior person to Trump in every way imaginable. Good day.
