Tell me again why he don't get playing time again? I saw this dude put up 16 and 12 against Jokic a couple months ago!

Maybe if he quits rebounding so much it will help him back to the Rockets.
Maybe if only shoots threes in the G-League will help, too

    How does that song go?

"It's too late, baby. it's too late /
"But we really did try to make it
"Something inside has died and I....."

Can't wait till we let him go and then trade a bunch to bring him back in 5 years.

I debated starting my own thread on him .

go watch his highlights , they are on YouTube .

he looks WAY better . I don’t mean , vs the competition ... he was already too good for the g league , but now his body looks way better .

Notice his posture . Where’s his usual Hunch? Does he look a little slimmer , a bit more explosive ?

the caveat is maybe he only looks that way because it’s vs g league opponents . But look at the speed of some of his dunks . He’s fockassed a bit more on quickness , which is good.

I didn’t see much of his defense in those reels , maybe I’ll watch a full game . The only way hartenstein is gonna help the rockets is if he transforms his game like this . He needs to be able to switch like 85%-90% as well as prime Capela . He’s a bit bigger tho I think .

the most immediate way he could impact our team is if he can set big, legal screens and shoot , or reliably finish in the paint , but even tho it seems his body control has gotten better , I’m not sure it’s nba fast/strong. Maybe we will see this season .

Maybe his defense IQ isn’t there yet . For him to deserve PT his game will have to jump green and caroll’s . We all know his size is not enough virtue .

but his recent highlights have me feeling good about him again . If he was his same lumbering self and just used his size to abuse smaller weaker players that would be one thing , but he generally looked a step quicker and displayed some above average skills . Those drives won’t be so successful imo . Either the defender will be bigger , or it will be a smaller guy and my bet is his dribble is vulnerable ... how many 21 year old 7 footers aren’t liable to get picked ?

he needs to learn to shoot . But he can’t let slow progress there (if that’s the case) wreck him mentally . Improve on other parts of his game , learn to use his size , improve his athleticism and quickness ... I like it .

keep it up , get his conditioning back , maybe get some shooting confidence , then call him up . He’s too good for g league . At the very least he can use the rockets developmental coaches and the training room . Get in the film room too , see what’s happening at the nba level .

"He'd be an excellent sign spinner for Tilman out in front of Landrys". (MDA)

When I see Hartenstein succeed despite the Rockets establishment trying to hold him down...

It can’t be overstated how insane those stats are. Especially with his playstyle.

    Stupid-ass franchise.

I like how POW also stands for prisoner of war ... which Hartenstein is a victim of , MDA’s war on centers :)

Hoopers need to hoop. Happy to see him playing competitive ball. Playing keeps the skills sharp. Who knows, may be called up again.

No they don’t. He is in the Faried banishment realm with MDA. He is only guilty of being tall.
