90%+ of Warren voters say they vote for the DEM candidate no matter what. Tell you a bit about her supporters.
My God........ the President has to be the best troll in decades...... he literally does nothing but troll 24/7.
I'm not sure if she's giving a speech or not, but her remarks to her staff and volunteers are pretty touching.
She was the best candidate by far for President, with a track record of knowing her **** and actually creating substantial legislation. Unfortunately, she could never overcome the "smartest girl in the room and knows it" image that so many Americans seem to loathe (personally, I like smart people). And as mentioned, she was held to a much higher standard regarding policy specifics, although to some extent that's her own fault for putting specifics out there (no other candidate even bothered). In any case, I'm still "Blue no matter who" in my voting plans, but I don't hold out much hope for much in the way of progressive policy getting done.
I think Bernie should pick her for VP if she is willing. I know there are risks, but I think Bernies chances are pretty much cooked right now. This could give him a real momentum boost, bring in a lot of the upper middle class voters that supported Warren.
But she's comes off at anti-business. Presidents need to be able to help business and the economy. When the economy is bad, then no one gives a crap about anything else including the environment.
Put people to work. We have a crumbling infrastructure being for it. We have tons or ways to get Americans working but we're gonna beg private industry that has done nothing but export jobs and pushing automation? Big business wants nothing more than to NOT hire Americans. I was one of them and voted for Sanders in the primary for pragmatic reasons. Would vote Biden IF the the convention doesn't pull delegate tricks and he wins fair and square.
I never was sold on Warren and her stunts such as announcing her candidacy in her kitchen with a beer bothered me. I also thought her attack on Sanders that he supposedly said a women couldn’t win was desperation. Her attacks on Bloomberg just made her the hatchet woman for the rest of the group and didn’t really help her. She is one of the most intelligent candidates with some very intriguing ideas. I think she is one of those candidates if she dialed down her personality she would do better. If she had positioned herself as the more thoughtful progressive who had a plan for change but not revolution we might be talking about her now as the front runner.
Good read. Her collapse really coincided with the focus on healthcare. The dreaded yes/no question that she refused to answer, then tried to awkwardly pivot and shift focus elsewhere while the audience cringed. She really allowed to herself to become an easy target. But, yeah, she never picked a lane. If the answer to the yes/no tax question was yes, then all she needed to was admit it, own it and introduce a better version of M4A. She attached herself early on to M4A, but was so terrified of creating Republican talking points, she alluded to some sort of M4A hybrid that wouldn’t raise taxes. Nobody bought it. Instead, she was indecisive and stalled before ultimately introducing her absurdly unrealistic plan that everyone hated, followed by the interim plan calling for a public option. By that point the damage was already done. Between the healthcare fiasco, Pocahontas thing, wine cave hypocrisy, CNN debate thing and Bernie feud — just, overall, a lot of self-inflicted wounds. Her and her team displayed very, very bad campaigning instincts throughout this process.
Funny that I was thinking the opposite. While Trump, Biden, and Sanders all very clear poles, Warren's position was nuanced. She didn't have a very clear value proposition that you can summarize in 3 words or less.
What bothered me about Warren is that her message was always about fight evil businesses. Not all businesses are evil. Actually most businesses do more good than harm.
