Wait, so the vaunted, pure-as-snow Yankees who just shelled out hundreds of millions for the pitcher we turned into a phenom aren't even in the top 3 for Vegas odds?

    Wow... Thank you.

I must have been really tired when I wrote that. That's the first time I saw that. Maybe I need to dunk my head in ice water ever so often. Geez.

I must say that I grew accustomed to Hinch's perfectly handwritten lineup cards. This is too sterile.

Ahh, well...you can't win em all. Especially if you're the Dodgers and Yankees.

Is anyone else just a tad concerned about Alvarez's knee?

Not that concerned. He's a DH, and all the talk of him playing the OF was stupid from the start. Having a 26th man on the roster makes it easier for Alvarez to only be a DH. He played through it last year and was still a monster.

I was pretty adament about him being a DH or maybe 1B in the minor league thread before he came up last year. Anyone that saw him live in the minors could see he wouldn't be a regular outfielder. The scouts said the same thing previously at the futures game a couple years ago.

A little. Especially when I think it was Baker who said something like concerned about him playing outfield because not sure how his knees will hold up. Hopefully they can convince him that being the DH is for the best interest for him and the team.

Big time, at his age to have these issues when he basically is just swinging a bat for a season isn't a good long term sign. I hope his knees aren't a genetic issue. If they were an issue last season why weren't they cleaned up in the off season?

If Sale ends up having TJ surgery I don’t see how Boston competes, which means some of their short term pieces might be available:

    C Christian Vasquez
    CF Jackie Bradley
    SP Eduardo Rodriguez
    RP Matt Barnes
    RP Brandon Workman

All of those except Bradley would likely be able to help Houston. I would also think Eovaldi would be available.

Yeah I am and so are the Astros, regardless of what they say to the public. If he cannot push off that knee, he isn't going to hit.

He was fine in the outfield in the minors. He would not win any gold gloves but he has a strong arm and moves well enough. He certainly could have played 40-50 games there.

The issue with his knee isn't running, it is the impact it will have on his swing and ability to drive the ball.

    This is becoming increasingly concerning.

It's his right knee, yeah? Plant knee?
