I think Trump fans are way more forgiving, I don't think people on the left will be as okay to see their candidate's brain-melting on live TV, maybe that's just me though lol.

I think Biden will start stumbling his words, Trump will shout over him and call him senile, crowd goes crazy, Biden struggles to get a sentence out to rebuttal.

I think Biden's issue with getting sentences out of his mouth will be a big problem.

This is my guess........ or possibly Elizabeth Warren if she can deliver Sander's voters.....

Would Sanders ever accept a VP position? I doubt it.

So how long does it take for Biden either step down or for Klobuchar to invoke the 25th amendment? Or does Klobuchar just pull the strings from the background while Biden is losing his mind in office and we just pretend everything is ok?

Cognitive decline isn't as clear cut as somebody dying in office. Coming to terms with the fact that you're not mentally up for the challenge of President is really hard to do, especially a short time after winning the election.

Sure, he dealt really well with Alicia Machado in 2016.

He was serving up incoherent word salads back then. His mental state has not improved.

I'm HIGHLY confident that the VP pick for Biden will be a woman of color. Highly confident.

I don't think Amy has enough juice to have gotten a VP nod in exchange for dropping out.

I think Abrams and Kamala Harris are heavy favorites for a Biden VP nod. Booker is possible as well.

I just don't think a white person has any chance to be Biden's VP.

Yeah, if anything, debates between those two will just be hilarious incoherence (hilarious for Xi and Putin anyway).

Nobody around Biden actually thinks he's in cognitive decline though.

with no experience at the federal level I'm not sure she'd be Joe's or anyone else's first choice. While she's got more political background perhaps than Mayor Pete, she suffers from the same lack (or perceived lack) of experience. Good cabinet officer material while we're playing Madden Democratic Politics 2K ;)

I wished they found a pic of Biden behind here rubbing her shoulders.

It's about the energy she brings, not actual experience, but I get your point. She has a high profile though.

Maybe Catherine Cortez-Mastro is another name to throw in there.

    Great news.

I couldn't disagree more. While I don't know anything about Ms Klobuchar's organization, Pete's has been excellent. He has a good organization and strong support from those who backed him, which includes a heck of a lot of small donors. He'll definitely bring Biden some votes.

You do realize that Bernie Sanders would be 79 years old when sworn in?

Sanders would be over a decade older than Ronald Reagan was when he sworn in.

Do you have a concern about having a President as old as Sanders?

FWIW I think ideally Trump, Biden and Sanders are too old to be President.

Are we going to be propping up Sanders corpse in 2024 if he is elected and tell everyone that at 83 years old Sanders is fine and dandy?

The oldest President LEAVING office in US history is 77 years old.......... Sanders would be two years older than this ENTERING office.

Benjamin Harrison is the oldest man elected President (11 years younger than Sanders) and he DIED in office after less than a month as President.

Do we need to look at actuary tables to figure out the chance of Sanders dying before his two terms would be up?

Definitely a genuine concern. Hence why I think Elizabeth Warren should be her VP in a hypothetical nomination but I'm not sure if Warren wants a position that many comsider to not be really that influental besides being back up. I guess morbidly, she would consider it because she knows there is a genuine chance he might pass before a hypothetical 2 terms are up.

I think she has a really good chance for a number of reasons...... she is very sharp and good at playing politics...... she also is very good at the grass roots level and being female and black would be a major bonus. She also is very involved in female causes, which polls show help with with white female voters. She has a lot of factors that could help Biden.

I cannot see Harris getting the nod, as she is not terribly popular with key demographics Biden needs.

This is all true of Joe Biden as well obviously.

It's also true of Donald Trump just a few years off of him. Trump is an overweight dude with high blood pressure and bad cholesterol that thinks exercise is bad for the human body and eats fast food all the time, probably throws down on viagra and huffs and puffs his way through 10 minute marathons with p*rn stars. He's 73 lol. Is he making it to 80? I don't know.

I agree with you, and I am not so sure where you draw the line. I haven't seen anything alarming about Sanders..... but (like Biden and Trump) he is in an age bracket where it can become an issue, especially with the time commitment needed to be President...... Sanders is push 80 and almost everyone slows down. My buddy that was B.B. King's accountant for years, said that he even slowed down at around 80 and that man was a ball of energy.

The VP for Bernie or Biden is a coveted spot.

For Biden in particular it seems almost beyond the realm of possibility that he would serve two terms.

I have a grandmother who's 86, sharp as a tack, all there. I had a grandfather who was gone by 74. Different people age differently, I trust Bernie, Bloomberg, and Warren in their 70's way more then I trust either of Trump or Biden, both of those dudes just aren't all there.
