Did you read the article. It is an elderly woman with chronic health problems. And at that point, no “wild” cases were reported in the US, and the evacuees hadn’t even arrived, yet.
I already edited my post. I realized the situation was different than I initially thought. I'm confused about the timeline, however. Not only how she got it, of course, but when her doctor requested that she be tested. Had he been in contact with her? Had any other medical staff before she was hospitalized? I guess that information is still coming out. If she went to see a doctor first, there's no telling how many others may have been exposed while she was there.
In the big picture, timeline doesn't matter. But for the purpose of D&D, this case debunks the idea that Trump allowing the evacuees into the country was the outbreak. Holy ****in **** balls. He's saying them Dems are using the Coronavirus to take him down, a hoax like Russia and the impeachment. That's not vague, whether he believes the virus is real or not isn't a question IMO, but he's certainly mocking the seriousness of the virus, attempting to play into the thought that the left is trying to make the virus look way worse then it is, purely in an attempt to assassinate him and his presidency. That is so ****ing ridiculous, this thing is going to be a god damn pandemic and we aren't preparing properly, we aren't testing properly, we've made mistakes handling repatriated citizens. I don't care what CNN commentators are saying, you don't start calling this thing a hoax at your rallies when this has the potential to kill millions world wide. This country is so ****ed.
I have this sick curiosity to see whether Trump's steady genius narcissism will get exposed in the face of general concern for a pandemic that won't differentiate between political parties. So far his cult is in lock-step with POTUS in thinking the pandemic is a "new hoax", so this doesn't really mean much except to rile up normal peoples' fears that government is not doing its utmost to protect us. These quotes will bite him in the ass though if virus picks up in fall w/ no approved vaccine. Or if the supply shocks take hold in April as market seems to suggest. Market is rarely wrong - when it moves in this big of a way.

I think and trust the gov is doing it utmost to protect us and although not as effective given the poor and dangerous incompetent and altitude in the Trump Admin, the health care system and local and fed gov can still be very effective. It's crazy to even think this, but I'm actually somewhat concern that his cult followers really believe in what he said. What the extreme right and member of his admin said. What Rush Limbaugh has said - it's a hoax and it's nothing more than a common cold. Community spreading was happening in South Korea but it seems to be in check until a cult member became infected (patient #31) and spread it throughout their church and the public. It exploded and look out of control after that. So I'm more concern that Trump cults don't take this seriously and spread it like "it's just a common cold". (like how HHS federal workers didn't take it seriously and not use protection gear to meet evacuees).
