It's absolutely scary the idiots Trump has put in charge of something so critical.

People are going to die - a virus doesn't know if you are a leftist @dachuda86 by the way. It hits everyone all the same. Putin, Biden, Bernie, Trump - all of them - are at risk of being taken out by this virus

 

Is is my fault? Why are you singling me out? You do realize this disease is not being properly dealt with across the board. All admins across the world are failing to close the borders and properly handle it. Temperature checking at airports won't stop a virus that spreads when people don't have symptoms... eventually it's coming. Now, I don't think Trump is perfect BTW and I don't defend his handling of it... again I don't support him. Here is a criticism I have of him actually. He is botching it hard. And yeah people are going to die like you say and it's not something to take lightly. This is an event that we all know is possible yet no one did anything to get ready for it. Ultimately we need to be ready and accept the this is coming. Good luck containing a virus the can last outside the body for extended time and is airborne during an incubation period of 24 days. What the hell can we do? Other than closing all borders, there are ways for it to slip in through human to human transmission without the person even running a fever. The best we can do is delay its spread so we can get some medicines to fight it or a vaccine ready. The best option actually is to find medicines we already have, like anti-virals, and find the best one to increase the chance of survival among those who need it.

You need to have a plan. This is going to wreck havoc on our way of live over the next year or two and we have to be prepared. Having there isn't much we can do to stop it attitude isn't what's needed. We have to prepare for the disruption to minimize that disruption.

Schools, businesses, the military, trade, the health care system, and even our elections may be significantly impacted.

I have a coworker, nice guy, I like talking to him, but we veered into politics yesterday and all of those FOX News / Breitbart talking points, all that "Deep State" bull, how Trump actually stands for Democracy as opposed to the other side of the aisle......They believe it all. Yep. Semi-worthless trivia: A few weeks ago we were in Kim Son in Stafford and the number of customers was waaaaaaaaay down. Multiply that around the world. It might be a matter of time before flights to and from certain countries are banned (Italy, for example; China, of course) until they feel there is a lid on this thing. And the economic repercussions will be huge.

We should be figuring out how to manufacture enough anti-virals for 100 million vulnerable citizens. We also need to figure out how to deal with all the uninsured folks - since everyone doesn't have health care we now face a crisis where people who do get sick won't go to a hospital fearing bankruptcy which may in turn accelerate the spread of the virus.

And you also now have an issue with illegal immigrants afraid to get any treatment and get deported, this is why you don't used other systems to report back to ICE - because it undermines our entirely safety.
