I like that DC was the first to WB aid and that he's active and didn't try to force anything. Four assists in a short run to is a good sign.

This thread got pretty quiet and the Jeff Green thread really picked up some steam. Keep in mind that Green went through 2 practices with the team and the shoot around before the game. Carroll literally signed right before the game and played. He didn’t have a flashy 17 point offensive game, but considering that he had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists in 13 minutes while not looking completely lost on either side of the floor, he played fine and looked solid other than the time he completely fumbled the ball and got it stolen while dribbling. I also thought he had a block towards the end when he locked up the guy he was defending and didn’t get credited. At the very least he forced the guy into a terrible looking shot attempt. I’m looking forward to seeing what he does in the upcoming games after a practice or 2. Suddenly having a surplus of legit wing players over 6’3 that you can rotate in and out of the game without a huge drop off is exciting.

Carroll looked active on defense. For whatever reason the team would not pass him the ball for some shots, but I think he's got a shot at the rotation after a few games.

I felt like he got the ball quite a bit and turned down shots. Not sure why he didn’t shoot a few threes. He was wide open.

The Spurs were so sold on Carroll that they traded 3-point sniper Davis Bertans in order to bring in Carroll, which was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Think about that for a second. The Spurs moved Bertans, who is shooting 42.4 percent from deep, which is the third-best in the league among players with at least 350 long-range attempts, so they could land Carroll.

Carroll also hasn’t played since January 8th, meaning he’s been inactive for the Spurs’ last 18 games. And this was someone they were banking on to replace Bertans? This isn’t to say that Carroll couldn’t have done that, but the Spurs never gave him a real shot to take on that role.

This allowed the Houston Rockets to swoop in and snag the Junkyard Dog off the buyout market, and the Rockets ultimately only paid $511,000 for his services, which was first explained by salary capologist David Weiner. But the Spurs ultimately took a severe financial hit by buying him out, as he only gave them back $811,000 in the buyout, as reported by ESPN’s Bobby Marks. As if that weren’t bad enough, the Spurs’ future financial commitment is even worse.

Wasn’t Carroll the fall option back when Morris reneged on his contract. So really they traded Bertans for Morris, doubt they would have done it for just Carroll.

Exactly. Morris F'ed them, then Spurs F'ed themselves.

Just give him to play next game. I am sure he can score next game. Knicks is not strong. MDA can continue to check the real power and function of new joiners. It is time to rest Tucker for his brother case
