This is not just about Facebook. It is about all of social media. Facebook is just one aspect of it.

Nobody has proven anything with numbers. We know they try. There isn't any mass upheaval here so where is your proof they are successful.

So Germany's money to Putin cant be spent against us? Money knows where it comes from?

When I say Facebook, I mean all of social media.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference. I purposely stay off of social media, so I legit am not sure if there's a difference between influence between them.

Yes the whole Cold War was a battle over influence. Does it make it right what Russia is doing now? Seriously I have to question what side are people on? This in general not directed at you.

Fair enough. I stay off of Facebook myself and twitter and other social media too. But that doesn’t negate the fact those are useful tools that Russia uses to spread their disinformation it is also why countries has spent resources fighting against them.

Nothing to fear of Russia i guess in your books. Sounds like what Russia would want people to think.

I am not afraid of them changing our election. I think that would be an internal issue first with all these electronic ballot boxes. But I do think that it is concerning that people are so doubtful of our elections because of them. All they need to do is buy a few ads. That's really all it will take and the left will use it as a scapegoat for why they lose 2020.

I am not talking about just the election. I swear you don’t read any of the posts do you? Or read any of the links.

Again what do you think Russian objectives are? What is the purpose of spending all of their resources on disinformation? What are their goals?

Why do some people on the right not admit Russia is a threat? . The whole world knows this. Yet you have some people on this forum and across the country down playing or outright defending Putin. It is a sick perverse time we are living in.

I don't mean to downplay it, other than to say that every country does it.

I want Trump to lose in the worst way, but that's going to start with people here, in America, educating themselves, not giving in to misinformation, and most importantly, actually showing up to vote.

And? We are the super power. Why are we tolerating an ex KGB agent doing it to us?

Why are people accepting to be a bunch of tools? Maybe you enjoy being a tool...

Yes they have been using those sites and that's what made them more susceptible to exploitation. Have you been following how Russia's influence scheme worked?

As far as the numbers I agree we will never be able to prove how many votes were changed but it was a very narrow victory sealed by .004% of voters in three states. It's like why people are upset about the Astros cheating scandal. For most people even if you told them what pitch an MLB pitcher threw was coming they wouldn't be able to hit. At the level of the pros where things are so close marginal differences get magnified. Besides even if a single vote wasn't changed it still wouldn't be a good thing for a foreign government to even be trying to influence our electorate.
