Ja'net DuBois has passed on. She played Willona on Good Times, and is also the answer to "Who sang the theme song for the show 'The Jeffersons'?" https://www.tmz.com/2020/02/18/good-times-willona-janet-dubois-dead-dies-74/
The fact she sang and wrote the theme to The Jeffersons had me wondering is the shows are related. It turns out they are. The Jeffersons was a spin off of All in the Family. Good Times was a spin off of Maud which was a spin off off All in the Family.
Screw that. That show wouldn't have died if it hadn't been for James being killed off. That's where it all went downhill. He was drafted before the wedding and before signing a million dollar contract (he was supposedly in town to sign it). He signed on in the final episode after the doctor said his knee had miraculously healed, but it was only for a few thousand dollars. That last episode was so corny -- everybody had good news/a happy ending to their story all at the same time.
Maud was highly underrated. Very good Show. I think Benson was part of the tree too. Maybe wrong there.
too little too late. I actually forgot about the final episode. Kudos to your and Dr of Dunks recall. I just remember him hitting the bottle and being a disappointment. Now that’s just me.
I don't know if I ever watched Maude. Bea Arthur always annoyed me for some reason. Benson was a spin-off of Soap. *EDIT* : Ooops... payaso beat me to it.
"Let me FRESH yo memory..." (Sorry, that was an actual line from the episode you're talking about when his old teammate Joe visits...lol)
