Carl Lewis was on another level of bad when he perpetrated the National Anthem. If you can't hit high notes? Not your song.

Turning the National Anthem into a sultry torch ballad? Painful. My wife thought the snippet she saw on the news wasn't real until I played the Youtube video of the performance.

 

She should have made it a protest to save face:

I thought it was alright. Then again I’m a pretty big fergie fan. And it’s odd that we play it before sporting events, so yeah. I’m on board with it

Khan's is much better than Fergie's. C'mon guys. Khan has soul. Fergie's was just bad music.

That said, I really don't like all this jazzisizing of the national anthem. It's just as bad as making a hip hop song sound like classical music.
