Buttigieg had that deer in the headlights look trying to dodge that question with a flimsy tangential response. Also, it didn't help the person asking the question Linsey Davis, is black and she kept pushing him point blank to answer it. Bad optics. This is why Buttgieg isn't going anywhere. His record and lack of support from minorities will crush his campaign soon.
early returns giving the win to Klobuchar https://theweek.com/speedreads/8946...rough-amy-klobuchar-but-joe-biden-worst-night
I’ve never seen such a weak group of candidates. What did they have at one time like 30? This is the cream of the crop. Smh
What a dreadful field... They should be really appreciative that they are running against a corrupt and unlikeable President. None of them are likable. An 80 year Northeastern socialist may win by default.
Biden, Amy, Pete. Only ones I care about...Warren is unelectable. Bernie is way too risky in a general. I’m a broken record on this forum, but Klobuchar has the most upside and the least amount of traits to attack
She's done well in literally all the debates .... sucks that she has so little support. Klobuchar / Buttigieg Klobuchar / Bernie I'd wouldn't complain about either of those tickets. Biden .... is sinking like a stone.
Can we all agree that Warren is just straight up annoying? I’m clueless as to how she finished third in Iowa
Yeah , I cant stand her .... she's so disingenuous. I don't know how she has so much support , I guess its the "Hate Billionaires" thing.
Socialist in the same vain as the Canadian system and many European countries. You need to stop painting him as some Che Guevara. He doesn't want to eliminate private property. He just believes a private health insurance market is innefficent and predatory towards the average consumer. It's kinda odd that Bernie style rhetoric wasn't so feared by the mainstream before.
Yep, this. This debate really reinforced my belief that Mayor Pete has no path to the Dem nomination, despite "winning" Iowa. He will be brutally defeated in South Carolina, he will probably be easily defeated in Nevada, and I think he will struggle in most of the Super Tuesday states, including California and Texas. He is widely disliked by Black people (and not just those that are Democrats), and I suspect he is not well liked among Latinos either. And I don't think that will ever truly change, no matter what he does from this point on to try and rehabilitate/improve his image. Forget 2020...he has no chance at the presidency in 2024, 2028, etc. Oh, and then there's the fact that he comes across as a "company man", a corporate hack. Probably because he is. Plus, he sounds programmed, "focus-grouped", robotic, fake, etc. He is to the 2020 Dems what Marco Rubio was to the 2016 GOP. If today was the 1980s or 90s, back when elitist-sounding corporate Dems were more palatable to the electorate...then perhaps Buttigieg would have a better shot...but still not a good one, because the country was far more anti-gay back then.
