Paxton out for 3-4 months for the Yankees. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020...ee-to-four-months-following-back-surgery.html
I hope they don't play. Don't get me wrong: I would love the Astros beating the Yankees this year more than all 3 of my children. But the thought of losing to them, in this context.....................
I don't expect anything less than a CM Punk/Colt Cabana style F.U. podcast after he quit WWE and called out EVERYBODY.
Think he'll be apologetic as well, but I don't think he will reveal anything else that happened that wasn't already in the report. It would be bad for him to snitch on anything else that happened if he wanted to work again. He's always been able to handle controversy well so I think he should come off well, and I don't think he'll throw anyone specifically under the bus.
I agree. I don’t think Hinch ***** any more on his own legacy. He’s a world champion manager and he doesn’t need to further the damage. But I don’t expect him to rat out other organizations. If we get a Keuchel like interview, “this was a product of the times”, I’d be pleasantly surprised.
It will be very interesting. I hope he accepts responsibility but also shines the light on other teams. That would bring a lot of credibility to what Astros fans central complaint is—that we’re being scapegoated. Hinch has always been a great speaker and a great leader. Baseball fans would get behind him if he honestly called for a shakedown of all suspected MLB teams...it’s kind of ludicrous NOT to, to be honest. I hope he says something a la “look, what we did was wrong, and in hindsight I wish I would have addressed it differently. But if MLB is serious about cracking down on the use of technology as it comes to sign stealing, the 2017 Astros need to stop being scapegoated and the league needs to dig deeper as this was a LEAGUE WIDE issue.” that’s something all baseball fans can and would get behind IMO, and his leadership and honesty on the front should land him another gig.
Only article I could find says he hit 15 HR in the Cuban Series, has a great arm and can play all 3 OF spots. As that tweet says, $4M may be the top bonus of any prospect in the 2020-2021 signing period; I said in the other thread, I would roughly translate that to a Top 10 draft pick in the Rule 4 draft, so he should be a really good talent and a guy who should fit on Top 100 lists in his first pro season, assuming he isn’t overmatched whenever he is assigned.
