So depressing...we're like the only team in the league that can't even try to straight up upgrade because we have no contracts to move, smh...
They would be better off hoping Winslow stays healthy and rolling with Herro, Robinson, Butler and Jones on the wings. They could be trying to offload Waiters and in turn take Iggy off Memphis' hands... deadweight for deadweight type deal. Just glad this type of move would take him off OUR radar.
Knicks 'Increasingly Likely' To Trade Marcus Morris The New York Knicks are likely to trade Marcus Morris before Thursday's trade deadline. Morris is on a one-year, $15 million deal with the Knicks. The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are two teams interested in Morris. "It is becoming increasingly likely that Marcus Morris will be elsewhere at the trade deadline.," said Adrian Wojnarowski on The Jump. "There's a significant marketplace for him. I think both L.A. teams are competing for him."
Woj: In a lot of ways, this could be the last stand of Coach Mike D'Antoni. He's in the last year of his contract. They broke off talks about an extension. You see D'Antoni going all in in what he believes in. Same with Daryl Morey. They have a lot of similar thoughts about pushing the limits of the game. They're going to go small. They value the idea of the 3&D player over Clint Capela who more than one exec said we're glad he's out of the West. We're glad he wasn't traded in our conference. Lowe: Swapping CP3 with Westbrook changed everything about the fabric of this team. Westbrook isn't a 3pt shooter anymore. We can't have two guys who can't shoot on the floor. They're 15th in defense. It's not good enough. I don't know how they get good enough with this roster. They're counting on turnovers & pace. OK, that's great. To win the NBA title, you gotta play defense. That's where the rubber will meet the road for these guys.
They said a western conference rival exec was thrilled to get Capela out the conference and off the rockets.
Can you imagine how Danny Green would feel after signing with the Lakers in free agency? I would be so angry they traded me to a rebuilding team, especially when the group we have now is playing so well. If Morris gets moved, my bet is he goes to Miami or Milwaukee. Miami needs either him or Gallinari as a stretch four next to Adebayo, and Milwaukee could field a lineup of Bledsoe-Middleton-Morris-Giannis-Lopez. Milwaukee especially needs to push all in to maximize this window with Giannis. They need to do everything to convince him to stay beyond next season.
