Damn...Romney put it down today. Took huge courage to do that especailly knowing that his vote will be in the minority. That appeal to God is something a Democrat should have said. That whole bit about "I made an oath to God too..." loved it.
Tweets incoming in... 3, 2, 1. Something something begged on his knees something something ALL CAPS!!11! LOUD NOISES!1!!
Mitt Romney not only voted to convict, but further explains why: And in doing so, becomes the first senator to vote to remove a sitting president of his own party.
So the 2012 republican nominee for president voted to impeach the current republican president who won in 2016... uncomfortable.
That's the benefit of having F U money. He can vote how he believes and not be beholden to his party.
Democrats are so terrible at messaging. Romney summed up the case against Trump so much better than Dems have: "The President asked a foreign government to investigate his political rival. The President withheld vital military funds from that government to press it to do so. The President delayed funds for an American ally at war with Russian invaders. The President’s purpose was personal and political. Accordingly, the President is guilty of an appalling abuse of the public trust. What he did was not “perfect”— No, it was a flagrant assault on our electoral rights, our national security interests, and our fundamental values. Corrupting an election to keep oneself in office is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office that I can imagine."
