Where did you get that bulleted info? I haven't looked into this caucus debacle much, but that is crazy if true.
lol "The meltdown in Iowa has me wondering. Did anybody really win last night? Everyone declared victory in his or her own way, yet Democrats lost. The form of the meltdown expresses the ideas they advocate. What wonders they might work if only they can seize control of our health care system." https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/02/idled-in-iowa.php
Calm down. Impact is minimum given that the delay is likely just one day. If there is a failure, this is exactly the time you want to have the failure - early in the primaries. Lesson so far - sh*t happens and paper trail! now, if only that get echo enough and those in power demand and get paper trail for all elections , starting with the 2020 presidential election. That would be a huge goodie out of this.
The app crashed before the results started to materialize so the timeline doesn't support that. The fact the Buttigieg campaign was behind in all polls before the caucus, however, does. Also, how does "overperforming" remove the motive anyway? The motive would exist as long as you were not in 1st.
You have to feel sorry for the people of Iowa. They take this stuff pretty seriously and know this archaic process like the backs of their hands. It was reporting the results to the stupid app that did them in. Now everyone is trying to take the only thing they look forward to every 4 years away from them.
LOL She's probably gonna vote Trump now. Thanks for sharing. Hilarious to see how uninformed people are. At least the people on here, regardless of their opinions or any sides they stand by, are typically far more informed than that moron. I mean this was widely talked about online. She must only watch broadcast news.
I think the best outcome is if this devalues Iowa for future elections. They shouldn't have this clout. The focus should be on Super Tuesday states...not 2 milky white states with a total population less than Harris County. If not exactly for this reason...
I didn't get many full ride scholarship offers out of high school but ill never forget The University of Iowa offering one out of nowhere
First of all, much of this isn't true. The company was one of many tech startups founded in 2017 to help fight the Trump campaign's digital strength. Lots of campaigns work with them - Pete, Biden, a few of the candidates that have dropped out, etc. The people behind it were tech people involved in the Clinton and Obama tech teams - as would be the case with most tech firms that are focused on helping Democratic Party causes. But beyond that, what is the assumption here? That Pete used the app to manipulate results where there is a paper ballot trail and precinct reps from each campaign on site? Or that Pete wanted to screw himself out of the opportunity to have a victory night celebration in a state he won? Or that he used to this to declare a fake victory, but it won't be true, and somehow that benefits his campaign rather than being a massive embarassment? It's garbage like this that makes people laugh at Yang/Bernie/etc supporters and all their whining, and what makes them so obnoxious and annoying.
Something something something HEARTLAND But for real. The state order should simply rotate every cycle. And caucuses are needlessly convoluted and can go pound sand.
