Report: Andre Iguodala, Grizzlies reach agreement, he will not report to training camp

can anyone really say they would give up money if the team actually agreed to let you sit also from the beginning?

What is NOT absurd is the question.
Would you tell your boss I want all my money but I am not working here coz your office sucks?
And if you send me to an office in another city if I don't like it I am not going. But you still have to pay me every single penny.

 

But now that he will be forced by the CBA rules to move his ass from his home, he still refuses.

It is a disgrace and if the Grizzlies relent and give in to this absurdity instead of establishing a nice reputation what they will do is be known as a pushover doormat that noone should respect.

 

Not that he's not going to report, just that if Grizzlies cannot trade him, he'll sit. Still, very disrespectful and lazily collecting a pay check. It doesn't say Memphis's thinking, but they might get to the point of saying: "look we couldn't trade you, now help us out with this push for the play-offs." Iggy should embrace being on a team vying for the 8th seed with some great young talent. Will never like this POS after this, don't forget this either:

I mean I get, but it's just ridiculous to me. That's a lot of money to waste hoping to get a pick.

 

The point is he can't do that if he gets traded to a team he doesn't want to go to and he sits then he can't play for the Lakers next year that's for sure. He can't play for nobody until that team that he was traded to agrees upon it.
And in fact if the grizzly say okay you have 30 days to report if I just said that and he doesn't report then the grizzlies can probably reinstitute that rule.

It is...... but he won't take a buyout unless he gets all his money......... and they didn't want him to be a distraction. I think that if he isn't dealt by the deadline that we will see a different response from Memphis where he either reports or takes a healthy haircut and takes a buyout.

 

Reports are that he is, in fact, being paid by Memphis even while sitting out per their agreement before the season. So yea, the Grizzlies are losing on all fronts with this Iguodala trade.

 

Curry needs to shut up, players are way too smug nowadays. Guess they're the 'masters' now.

 

To me, this is just a reminder that Curry hasn't won a Finals MVP yet even though his team has 3 Larry O'Brien trophies. Without Iggy and KD, Curry ain't ****.

 

Honestly, I can see Memphis just trading him to either the Clippers or Lakers for contracts and 2 2nds at the last minute. At least they can salvage this trade somewhat.

I thought it was agreed he did not have to report?

His contract is guaranteed is it not?

Did he ask for a trade?

How is asking for his full contract being absurd?

 

As much as I've given you crap about the Grizzlies over the years (Rudy Gay is memorable to me), I'm glad your team has been able to build around those young studs. I hope they keep on growing together.
