Mr Iguodala is right now out there publicly trying to tank his own trade value, sabotaging Memphis efforts so he can have his cake and eat it too.

If Memphis fails to get a first because of his statements what they need to do is to punish him for stabbing them in the back and send him to Minessota.

meh memphis allowed this to happen in the first place. they get no sympathy from me. don't want iggy to have any power in this situation, well don't agree to let him sit in the first place or do something to get rid of him

There's a difference between nog playing and just not reporting to the team! Who knows what kind of insights he could give the young guys, on the bench or during practices. Also staying in shape with those guys and it's not that crazy that coach might have played him here and there.

It's not like playing Iggy automatically hinders players development.
When the time comes for these young guys to step up in the play-offs, there will be veterans around and or ones that showed them the ropes.

Iggy could actually set a good example by behaving like a pro, showing up, practicing, teaching. If he has reported and is around the team, then I take back some stuff towards Iggy, but my overal point stands regarding players not playing and not even reporting.

Rid of him? Pay his full salary so he can go play where he wants? :D
    We are blaming Memphis now?
They aren't the first or the last team who has to put up with absurd player demands so to keep good working relationships with agents and a nice reputation in the league.

What needs to happen is the NBA office to take disciplinary action.

The team tried already their best to work with the player and find a common solution.
Since the player is greedy and refuses to compromise while threatening to fail to report according to the CBA he will get fined for every single day he fails to.

    Time to take action.

he failed to set a good example when he immediately decided to not play for memphis and they agreed to it.

Not reporting and going public with your story the way he has is definitely not common. It's a problem, just like years ago when players were traded only to be signed as FAs later. The league stopped this and by all the looks of it: Iggy might go back to GS and that's probably been the deal all along. Like sorry, you're too expensive, we're not contending so go and seek an opportunity to get a ring and we'll welcome you back next year.

if they take action against this, then theyll need to take action against all of the other player empowerment moves. and we all know that isn't happening in this era

Well, the Grizzlies are dumb then for agreeing and should be punished and also Iggy since it's unsportsmanlike. League should be against any incentive to just have guys sit at home, waiting to be traded to another team. And if he does not report if he doesn't get what he wants, does this mean he gets no money or just that he cannot sign anywhere else?

Well of course, but still I'm against that. What is your standpoint then?

huh? did the world just not witness AD and the LA saga. Ad made it publicly known where he was heading unhappy and all and he was under contract with new orleans. the league hasn't stopped anything

my standpoint goes back to both sides being at fault so what really can be done. not much tbh when in this era, the players themselves have been allowed to hold so much power in the first place

Iggy has been a full blown b*tch

Memphis is young and exciting, and you’re acting like you’re too good to even show up? If I was a player on that team, it’s “fck that dude” all day.

I thought you were asking me a question but what you're really saying is that you're right and I'm wrong.
he posted an article from the CBA I don't know how much more clear that can be.
If Iggy gets traded and he doesn't report then he risked his free agency, period the end.
The grizzlies allowed him to do that and now he wants to screw them.

i asked for the story about iggy refusing to play if he got traded to a team he didn't like because that's what you said? As if he actually made that known. that post didn't address that

It happened a few years ago with Kirilenko.
ALSO there is player empowerement and there is " demanding all your money in a buyout while refusing to report"

Show me where a player recenty refused to report to a team while giving nothing in a buyout?

Not the same, but point taken. Did I say they stopped this? I said they did something about players traded only to be signed later in the season after they got cut / waived.

    What's absurd about his demands?

I changed my mind. Instead of Miinny where at least there is KAT, they should trade him to the Cavaliers where the coach will force him to run high school drills and the owner is so cheap he will never consider a buyout.
