They know how to crash the glass but it is also a taxing job for guards as they have other jobs to do running around.

sounds like an all star caliber player. It’s fascinating that people think we can get elite players for nothing.

unless you are talking about Ryan Anderson, then my apologies.

It works but long term it is going to wear out all the smaller players.

Show me a single game the Hampton 5 never played anyone over 6’5”. Come on man. They used their centers in every single game.

Of course no has done it, because Houston has been the first to do since the Jurassic age of NBA.

But it is the death line up or Hampton 5 that runs opposing teams into the ground.

MDA is taking it to another level, playing such a line up all game.

Would playing Harty (or Capela when 100%) for significant minutes make u feel better even if unproductive?

    Or make them better.

Rockets played 8 man rotation last night.

    Harden
    Russ
    EGo
    Tucker
    Rivers
    House
    McLemore
    Thabo

Is giving Harty or Tyson 5-10 minutes going to improve win margin? Doubtful either of the 2 could have defended Porzingas, especially on the perimeter.

It’s funny how for years the team to beat was GS playing small ball for a significant amount of time. Now arguably the top 2 teams to beat in the league consist of the biggest front courts

Small sample size. And it stays that way until next season.

You got to have multi-skilled athletes for the small ball strategy so the players can be as diverse as possible in the floor. We don’t even have enough two way players for that strategy. Let alone the ball handler. I like the strategy but I don’t like our personnel for it.

If Capela 100% then MDA is not playing smallball all game. I dont know why this so difficult to understand.

MDA is only playing his best players.

Harty/Tyson are so limited that playing them is unproductive vs. certain teams.

Actually yes. Haha. I don’t like Dantony’s crazy antics. I feel like he gets away with some dumb **** simply because he has one of the greatest offensive players ever there to bail him out.

I do think he’s an offensive genius and I think he has done a great job with Westbrook. I think he has gone overboard with offense though. Got to play defense and grab boards. He needs to build that now so it’s 2nd nature in the playoffs. Can’t ignore it all season and then expect to do it against elite teams.

There is no Bzdelik to reign him in this year. I’m afraid he’s going off the rails with small ball if Capela isn’t available.

It’s not like we have a big Duncan type PF either who acts like a center.

In the end I guess last night helped me finally adjust my expectations. We aren’t winning a chip with him coaching our team. I’m ready to set him free after this season. Hopefully Tilman is as well.

At this point I’m just in for the ride. Lowered expectations. No more complaining. Hopefully we go farther than I expect.

Remember when we used to joke about Harden starting at center?

The joke will be when we play Clemons at center.

Yeah, he is such a leader that in ALL his years of basketball (and he is no young pup) he has NEVER been to the Finals without a ticket.

Sad!!!! Maybe his next experiment that nobody has ever tried will be playing unathletic overweight guys and maybe even a girl in the lineup because it has never been done before. You of course will be supporting the loser and kissing his butt just like with this half pint lineup.

MDAs offense has always been good. I mean had lin averaging 25 points. He invented the modern NBA offense. He was doing pace and space before it was Vogue. His teams struggle because of d, but he is a great offensive coach with or without harden.

I give credit to MDA for convincing Westbrook to be our full-time starting center. Since then his production skyrocketed.

Totally understand, I have felt that way too. But vs. Jazz when Harty was put in for 6 mins, Jazz outscored Rockets by 11. Harty, like Tyson, is not plug and play like Capela.

Harty is only playable vs. certain matchups. Smallball is not a preference, it's a necessity now.

Loser?!!? You are delirious, your hate for MDA is driving you to extreme takes untethered to reality.

    Get help quick.
