Trump has a conservative majority on the Supreme Court so he can almost do anything he wants. If it really bothers people, then go out and vote.
2nd time I saw this posted here tonight, I really like it. I think that should be the dem slogan and the focus of a hoard of commercials / online ads during the general to intice the large group of disenfranchised Americans who don't vote. If you disagree with X (inhumane immigration actions, denial of climate change, healthcare system, etc etc) then go (or come/get) out and vote, you have the power.
i think some in power would love to revisit that. Why stop at new immigrants? (Except models from shithole Slovenia of course.)
The article also says it wouldn’t affect students or those with “specialized skills”: “Nonimmigrant visas, including those for students and certain temporary workers, as well as visas reserved for potential employees with specialized skills, will not be affected by the ban.” So, doesn’t appear like it would impact people who were in Hakeem’s situation to move here. No visits from family, though.
It is the only thing left. The senate has shown they will not do anything and the Supreme Court has as well. Congress is limited in what it can do. At this point outrage has been a constant theme for over 3 years. So it is put up or shut up. If people really have an issue with these decisions made by the President, then vote him out of office (assuming he doesn’t manipulate voting results). That is it. Do it or don’t or accept that the American people are accepting of what the President does.
but were still good with saudi arabia, huh? i know several people from nigeria and they are some of the friendliest, most intelligent folks i know.
Pretty sure we would call most of them that. We should just update the Statue of Liberty to say go **** yourself.
Well if Trump is re-elected then America agrees with the President or isn’t motivated enough to show up and vote. At this point outrage isn’t changing anything and neither is the separation of powers.
When laws are passed that make it harder and harder to vote - making it so you have to jump through inordinate hoops such as driving halfway across a state to get the proper paperwork, or wait 9 hours to vote while others only have to wait minutes - it's not so simple. But yes, people have to go out and vote. I vote every year. I am pretty sure everyone who reads this forum and is politically obsessed votes as well.
Not necessarily true, but yea. Outside of it being an EC system, there IS a point that going out to vote is not enough. I don't think we are there, but I can't be absolutely sure we aren't there yet either in Nov 2020.
There has not been ONE terrorist from these countries that has attacked the US or Europe. I guess they are just "shithole" countries. Trump is ****ing racist.
Nigerian immigrants also have a lower crime rate, higher rate of bachelor and graduate degree holders and a higher than average income than the average native born American citizen.
