What precedent and have you not seen how precedent does not matter with Mitch or Trump?

I can't believe the doom and gloom over this vote, everyone should have known this was gonna happen.

I'm just glad they waited to impeach on a more substantial case than the Mueller report.

to dobro's point replying to me above: it seems like a lot of people (like Kelly) will now blurt out snippets of truth hoping that history can look on them more kindly. Cold comfort for those of us who want a functioning democracy.

The precedent that EP isn't the end all be all and evidence crucial a case wont be protected by it.

Trump and McConnell aren't on the SCOTUS.

The SCOTUS ruled in under 80 days in a unanimous decision against Nixon's use of EP.

The Dems could have compelled any of those witnesses to testify had they filed the proper court documents and it would have been fast tracked.

They didn't want them. They knew they weren't getting a conviction and that's not what they were after - they were after ammunition to use in the election to win the Senate.

Isn't the Mcghan case still being appealed?

    That's going on 4 months.

    That's not part of "impeachment".

Really , my point is a simple one - Impeachment was never about Trump or a conviction / removal. Pelosi knew from day one she wasn't getting either.

It was about putting those GOP Senators on the record to use it against them come election time.

And put Trump on Record, there is a good chance he will be impeached a second time, just watch what he do in the next nine month, he just cannot help himself, he will break laws again, just a question if he will get caught.

A Voice of Reason. Dilly Dilly.

What are the odds of re-impeaching in the next few months? I don't think the country will stand for that. The political points have been scored and it was a good show. I honestly thought they'd call a witnesses. I really hoped they would.

There is no indication that this approach is working to dampen Trump supporters because of Trump supporters' apparent duplicity and willingness to believe their cult leader over #fakenews. A clear conviction is the only way a cult person might be convinced (if that).

Can you substantiate your assertion that courts would've expedited proceedings and there would be a conviction in time for general election and that Biden would not be driven through mud for so excrutiatingly long (like HRC was) that he would lose the primary for sure?

Liked Rubio's but this one just sucks. Hiding behind the House process is the coward's way out. Yeah, I know the process wasn't ideal. But I also understand the political dynamics that caused it to be so. Drives me crazy to see a Senator call political developments "inexplicable" -- if I understand them, why can't an actual high official understand them?

I'm also amused by the claims politicians make about "returning to the issues Americans care about." You know what issues I care about? Corruption in government.

But whatever. I'm ready for the next phase. It's up to voters now to decide if they'll tolerate what they saw, and we'll deserve what we get.

It kinda did start with the Pee Tape.

As much as it disgusts you that I don't see the high crimes and misdemeanors that you do, I'm equally astonished that the abuse from within the FBI, Justice Dept. and most likely CIA (we'll wait for Durham) does not move the needle for you. It's like it's not convenient for you so you brush it off. This is the stuff that made me root for Trump. The first we hear of it is from Nunes, who Schiff calls a liar. Nope..it's true. And stay tuned for the WB stuff to come out. It already has but you probably won't hear or accept it if it doesn't fit into your beliefs. He's not a hero. He's an undermining POS. With all due respect to real whistleblowers. And I'm not meaning any disrespect to you either. I understand you and I see things differently. I'm ok with that. I'm not so sure you're are .... but it's time to move forward.

We can move onto the election. And I can honestly say at this point I don't really care too much who wins as long as the house and senate has some republican control for the checks and balances. And for God's sake, I hope the Republicans don't use the word impeachment.

And hey, this thing still has a vote left. Crazier things have happened.

So the POTUS is above the Constitution. I think it’s worse than denials.

I usually don’t like cartoon, but...

Why are trump's shylock lawyers still discussing additional witnesses and threatening to call others? If I was the opposing counsel I'd say "Sure, bring them on..."

The biggest crime Nixon committed was he was born in a time period when people in congress had a sense of what is right and wrong.

Why would the country not stand for it?

The majority of Americans approve of this one, if something else comes why would they not approve.

Dude you are all over the place.
