Meanwhile, the President makes open threats to politicians and insults politicians on a daily basis... At least Rubio is honest with his take. "I don't care if it's impeachable or not, it's in the country's best interest that he's president." At least he's honest that he wants a King for a president.
We say that and it may look like that by observing this Senate impeachment but all in all we know our politicians love power far too much to let it get to that point. They know he's gone by 2024 at the latest and he's gonna have hell to pay, I don't see a ride into the sunset on this one.
Is he gone by 2024? We have just witnessed a cover up for a crime. He has destroyed checks and balances. There is now zero reason for him to step down from power. Who stops him from doing this?
History will show that Senate Republicans decided on January 31st, 2020 to appoint Trump the first King of America
This has been the status quo for the past 25 years or so, only difference is it's never been done so openly before.
Props to Rubio. Some folks apparently don't like his argument, but I do. I don't agree with it, but I understand it, it's defensible, and it's honest. He admits the Managers proved their case, but he believes the cure is worse than the disease. Given that the Senate was bound to acquit from the start anyway, I appreciate that he had the courage to state his position. Since he's getting his way anyhow, I hope that I'm wrong about what it'll do the country and that he's right.
I think we have just watched the death of the Republican Party.... There is the Trump Party and the other conservative Party.... T_Man
LOL at the impending liberal hysteria and crying. They actually thought their partisan hack Eric Ciamarella's work was going to get Trump removed from office? The House's political theater couldn't even get all the democrats to get on board! Then they tried to make the conversation about "allowing witnesses", and the NY Times even got in the act to start leaking manuscripts (at the last minute!) from the guy that recently got fired by Trump. Just an absolutely partisan waste of time. The democrats have been trying to do this since the day Trump was elected. They admitted as much at the time. They need to focus on real issues.
You are full of it. The impeachment case started in May of 74. The SCOTUS ruled on the case in July of the same year. That's less than 90 days ....
I applaud him for being honest, instead of denying plain and obvious facts. What the POTUS did rises to the level of impeachment. It's not a "witch hunt." Rubio doesn't want to remove Trump from office at this time. Okay then.
I give Rubio and all the other cowards who knew this and instead pushed conspiracy theories and played along ZERO applause. These a self dealing cowards... plain and simple. Him and the others are only saying this now because they know like hell that they are going to get serious backlash over the next 9 months, and this is his way of saying "oh I came out and stood up to Trump".... No Marco.... you did not. You don't get to callback your dignity after knowingly doing what you've been doing the past 4 months.
Perhaps. I guess I am less hopeful. After the famous trump tower meeting and Mueller investigation, trump went right back and again corrupted the election process pursuing political dirt from a foreign country. And heck, some of the republican senators even said they had no problem with that. And now that the congress has even less of a check on what trump does... I fully expect more and even worst actions. Who/what will stop him?
Who stops the next elected president from taking over is the real question. The military does not like him very much how much power does he actually have?
