Its incredibly boring so maybe one of the Stargates. But also worse acting

Nothing really like it. Real physics play into the storyline. Politics based show. Deals with class systems. First season is noir influenced.

Treat the first season as slow paced world building. It took me a few weeks to get through it. I recommended it to some people but they couldn't get past that hill.

It picks up steam when you get used to the characters. They're all flawed but they show growth.

It's not until mid season two where you realize the series is starting to get pretty damn good.

Watch the Premiere. Definitely a different feel from Discovery. Interesting to see where it goes.

I really enjoyed it but man, I wished they would have released a couple of episodes because that premiere almost played like a prologue…..

It’s a good sign that it left me wanting more….

It definitely served it's purpose in getting people to spend money on their subscription service.

I will say this, CBS All-Access is worth the money. You have all the old Star Treks. You have the shows (except the back catalog of NCIS: LA...syndication deal is the reason). They do have old CBS station and CBS studio shows. Originals like the new Twilight Zone, The Good Fight (The Good Wife spinoff). Also, you can watch Live TV including CBS SEC Football, NFL Games (games shown locally), NCAA tourney games, CBS Golf broadcast. Important, if u have cut the cord.

Are all the episodes up at once?

Some reviews for the first three eps have been savage, saying this isn’t trek and more like dark drivel.

Since i read that Stewart wanted to do something completely different or more current to the world, I’m like, oh okay Patrick Stewart will do what he wants to do... and I’ll still watch it.

Orville seems to be a good substitute for old fashioned Trekkies. I’ll reserve judgment till the end.

I think it's topical and it's easy to see correlations to the modern landscape but that's what Trek has always done, it's darker than TNG but that's not saying a lot...

Those reviews seem to be in the minority, the rating have been pretty decent on Metacritic (77) and Rotten Tomatoes ( 95%)....

Tackling the morality of AI and cloning is 100 percent Star Trek.

The premise is fine but the show is slow. Definitely not as good as Discovery. But I’ll keep watching

The first 3 episodes will be setup.

The show is designed to be different than the ship based shows.

It's up on YouTube too, "for a limited time" under the official CBS All Access account.

Said the same **** about Discovery at the start. Now, most changed their tune. Most of these assholes said the same about Deep Space 9, which is now probably considered the best story Arc of any Star Trek series.
