Trading Clint would be a mistake. He's the only player with upside we have on the roster (besides Hartenstein, and who knows how good he really is). We have no picks moving forward, so unless we offset that horrible Westbrook trade with some incoming draft picks, I'm not on board with moving him.

he’s the only player that has value, I just don’t trust the guy. He has monster games when it doesn’t count but has failed us too many times when the games matter. I think harden and wb can make a lot of centers look good as well

Patitta: “Dad. Capela has shot 23-27 free throws. He keeps this up, he might get that $500,000 incentive.”

Tilman: “Trade him before it’s too late!”

I do think Capela's numbers is more of a reflection of the system the last few years in which he just benefits from the
wide open dunks on doubles and pick'n rolls and scoops up a lot of rebounds due to our team's barrage of three pointers
strategy, lack of any real power forward and multi-guard lineups.

When we had Paul, Harden, Gordon, Tucker (when he could shoot) and Capela it was ok as he was the only one on the floor
that couldn't shoot. Now with Westbrook, having Westbrook and Capela allow teams to double James and play him with waves.
This reduces his ability to penetrate to get Capela looks and we put it on Westbrooks back as those two become secondary.
Don't think we can win long term like that.

Capela isn't much of a defender or blocker but really excels at running the floor as a big man but the system just isn't working.
This is not a rut, this is a fundamental flaw in our offense that was designed around Harden, a bunch of shooters and a pick 'n roll
    dunk target.

Something has to change and it seems Capela is the odd man out. I do think he will not succeed on other teams because of Harden's
brilliance in creating offense AND our teams chucking in which we miss 30 3 pointers so he gets lots of rebounds.

Sell High before the rest of the league figures this out!!

Spread 4/5 like Covington + More of Course or Kevin Love (they'll give assets to dump contract) or possibly a Gordon Hayward with
only one and a half years left on contract.

All would spread the floor and leave James, three shooters and leave only Westbrook as a non-shooter limiting the ability to double him.

    Changes are coming

Agree unless we are getting several serviceable starters and picks for Clint we are just going to open up another position for which we have no depth or player that can approximate what Clint gives us in rebounds and points. We are ****ed at this point, the Harden/Russ tandem has us effectively tied up with regard to the kind of moves we can make at the deadline without unloading a starter since we can't trade Gordon... We are screwed

Why trade Capela? That won't help this team.

Come on man!!!! Capela is not the main problem here! MDA continues to demonstrate his style is a joke and Harden continues to give the reason to all those who think he is a loser unable to play with another star on his team.

No. Absolutely not. He is okay as a buyout candidate.

could we add Gordon too? Or he can’t be traded this season?
    I like the first option.
We already know what Capela brings. Just rebounding rest is all thanks to Harden or Russ passing it to him. Yet he still way to soft.

he got paid and couldn’t work on his craft. He still goes for every block shot. Leaving his man wide open for rebounding the ball. Tries to switch on every possible play. And worse of all he is all about him getting his stats. How many times is he going to fight for a rebound with his team mate or shoot a terrible contested shot inside the paint.

Clint Capela is not the main issue on this team, but he’s the only attractive trade asset the Rockets have to address their major roster construction issues this season. Furthermore, at this point in his career, Capela is what he is. He’s had plenty of time to make substantial improvements in his game, and, yet, many of the same deficiencies he had early on in his career are still there.

Also, if the Rockets could trade him in a multi-team deal for an elite 3&D wing and a competent rim-running, rim-protecting center, the Rockets would be an improved team.
