Roy McAvoy - needing only a par 5 on 18 to get into a playoff for the U.S. Open, famously takes a 12.

35-3, they had a Pro-Bowl running back, punter, kicker and one in every defensive unit, they literally should have been running off-tackles and goal-line dives for 30 minutes.

    2004 ALCS

The Yankees went up three to zip and then scored 4, 4, 2, and 3 runs in the last four games of the series. People tend to blame Rivera, but he only gave up one earned run in the whole series, pitching 7 innings across 5 games.

If I recall correctly Pro Bowlers on the other side Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and I think Bruce Smith had all left the game with injuries as well.

We lost in epic fashion to backups....

The 2004 ALCS was losing 4 straight when you only needed 1 win. They even had the greatest closer in MLB history blow back to back saves in games 4 & 5.

I'd like to nominate the 2011 Rangers, who were twice one strike away from winning the World Series. Blowing a 3 run 8th inning lead and 2 run leads in the 9th and 11th of game 6.

Jean Van De Velde in the real world. Greg Norman in 86 Masters as well, but those collapses happen sometimes (Spieth this year).

I voted 2004 ALCS just because its the only time 0-3 has been overcome in MLB or the NBA, but if you are the self proclaimed greatest team ever should never blow a 3-1 lead especially with 2 of the last 3 being at home.

She didn't choke any more than McCain did after killing it in the primaries. Even if you take way Palin's gaffes and intellectual indignation, nonsense like the double pregnancies and ethics investigation would have been caught by a fully engaged campaign.

Is it a choke when everyone knows you are gonna blow the lead?

Could have gone with the INXS guy too.

Today was an asskicking, not a choke.
